The Girona International Festival (FIMG) inaugurated its second edition with the projection of anaglyph 3D mapping on the façade of Santa Caterina, Diplopia. A work created by the Catalan company Onions with a technique that allows images to be displayed in 2D that cause a three-dimensional effect when viewed with special glasses.

Diplopia is a stereoscopic work that revisits the concept of binocular vision, that is to say, how the eyes bring together information from two different images to perceive a single object. Two different points of view that arise as a consequence of binocular disparity.

Aligned with the main theme of the FIMG 2015, 'Contradictions', Diplopia was presented as an eight-minute long projection that opposes concepts, like light and darkness, flexible and rigid, near and far, loud and quiet, wet and dry… Volumetric contrasts and the illusion of depth create images that seek to confuse, upset and fascinate the public.

The FIMG 2015 has taken place between 30 of July and 2 August turning the city of Gerona into the international benchmark for mapping. As in the first edition, This year the same structure has been maintained. From Friday 31 from July to Sunday 2 In August the International Mapping Competition was held, with projections on some of the most representative facades of the city of Las finalist artistic proposals, and Thursday 30 from July to Saturday 1 In August the International Mapping Congress took place, a space for dialogue and reflection dedicated to professionals in the sector.
