José Manuel Soria has presented the final report 'Connected Industry 4.0: the digital transformation of the Spanish industry', prepared with the support of Indra, Telefónica and Banco Santander to provide companies with the strategies and initiatives that support their digital transformation, and that has an initial game of 97,5 million euros in 2016.

The minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism, Jose Manuel Soria, has presented the report final ‘Connected Industry 4.0: the digital transformation of the Spanish industry', a document that includes the lines of action of the Connected Industry initiative 4.0. This public-private project aims to promote the digital transformation of the Spanish industry, for which it has had the support of Indra, Telefónica y Santander Bank (in the image below).

The initiative has a triple objective: increase industrial added value and qualified employment in the sector; promote the Spanish model for the industry of the future and develop the local offer of digital solutions; develop differential competitive levers to favor Spanish industry and boost its exports.

In 2016, The General Secretariat of Industry and SMEs will allocate 97,5 million euros to the project, a budget to which the contribution of other secretariats and ministries will also be added.

Industrial digitalization and actions

At the presentation ceremony, which also had the presence of the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and SI, Victor Calvo-Sotelo, and the General Secretary of Industry and SMEs, Begoña Cristeto, The main lines of the document have been broken down, such as disclosure, the adaptation of academic and work training, the creation of multidisciplinary and European collaboration environments, the promotion of the development of a technology offer 4.0 from R&D and support to technology companies.

The report also considers the implementation of digital transformation to be key with support for the industry., the adaptation of the regulatory framework, international standardization and the development of reference public-private projects.

During his intervention, Minister Soria recalled that industrial policy is one of the pillars of economic growth in Spain and that this initiative, framed in the Agenda to strengthen the industrial sector, It is an additional step that presents challenges and challenges.
