TVE uses Samsung virtual reality in its production “Roman engineering”
Samsung has collaborated with Imageen in the development of an app for its Gear VR Innovator Edition that helps to experience in an immersive way the process of reconstruction of the buildings of the ancient imperial city of Tarraco. An experience that can be appreciated by viewers of the documentary series produced by TVE., “Roman engineering”.
In collaboration with the specialized production company Imageen, Samsung has presented in Tarragona an augmented and virtual reality service that offers a complementary experience to the citizens and visitors of this city, as well as to viewers of the documentary series “Roman Engineering. “The ingenuity of Rome at the service of the people”.
Samsung has collaborated with Imageen to introduce the 360º vision technology of its Gear VR Innovator Edition in this production., that puts a complete simultaneous panoramic view at the viewer's fingertips that helps them experience a jump in time.
The series “Roman Engineering” It is a co-production of TVE, Digivision y Structuralia, in collaboration with the Tarragona City Council which is presented as the first transmedia project with virtual and augmented reality videos from the RTVE Lab.
This documentary explains the challenges that Roman engineers faced to build prodigious works and connect the vast territories of the Roman Empire..
From these contents, An augmented reality application has been developed for smartphones and tablets that recreates the city of Tarragona during the 1st century BC. Through this application, Spectators can see the city's iconic Roman buildings being rebuilt, like the circus, the walls, the theater or amphitheater, and discover the architectural secrets of the Roman Empire. In addition, can experience chariot racing at the circus, gladiator fights in the amphitheater or the Roman civil environment in the forum or temple.
Immersive experience
As part of Samsung's commitment to culture and historical and artistic learning through technology, The company has collaborated with Imageen in the development of an application for its Gear VR Innovator Edition virtual reality glasses, which will be available for free on the Oculus Store.

Screening at the Tarragona Theater
