Yamaha demonstrates at ISE 2016 the possibilities of network audio and the mixing potential of your consoles
QL1 consoles, TF1 y CL1, The MusicCast wireless system and network switches for installation are some of the solutions that Yamaha exhibits at ISE 2016.
Yamaha go to this ISE 2016 with an extensive portfolio of audio solutions for different environments. Regarding mid-range mixing tables for applications that require a flexible system, configurable and easy to use, is showing in Amsterdam the QL1 console with 16 tickets and 8 outputs in a chassis 468 mm wide.
QL consoles are ideal for small and medium-sized productions, although thanks to Dante networks it is possible to integrate them into larger systems along with the R series or the Yamaha CL. Up to eight R Series units can be controlled simultaneously by one QL console, offering up to 256 input sources.
Port to Port technology allows CL series consoles to access QL console connections, thus allowing them to be used as external inputs/outputs. The auto-mixing capability included in the QL series, makes these consoles a perfect option for events.
We can also see the TF1 console at the Yamaha stand with 16 rear-panel analog inputs featuring Yamaha's D-PRE programmable preamps, for the first time on a digital console. This feature provides improved support for live music and action-sensitive events..
It has a total of 40 input mix channels, including dual analog stereo/digital USB inputs and two returns. Advanced live recording features, with up to 34 x 34 recording and playback channels via USB 2.0 y 2×2 via a USB storage device are other advantages of using the TF1 console.
Its user interface is comprised of an advanced touch panel system that both experienced engineers and newcomers will find it easier than ever to get the ideal mix..
The third console that Yamaha wanted to show at ISE is the CL1, a table with 48 mono inputs and 8 stereo with full possibility of fader configuration and optional VU meter bridge.
Network audio
Yamaha is proving that the SWP1 series network switches are the solution the pro audio market was waiting for., providing that ideal balance between computing and professional audio know-how that only Yamaha can offer.
The SWP1 series makes working with an audio network, monitoring and configuring it is easier and more practical than ever.
Red Dante
Dante networks are not difficult to configure or work with, But as the complexity of the network increases, it is necessary to optimize the switches used in order to achieve maximum stability. Configure QoS, IGMP Snooping or other parameters of a smart switch can be a complex task that requires specialization and knowledge, more typical of computer technicians than audio engineers.
The SWP1 series allows you to recover an optimized Dante configuration by simply flipping a DIP switch. No experience or specific training is required.
A truly efficient network must be able to handle multiple services simultaneously.: Dante communication, StageMix and other smart device features, computer software, allowing control of digital mixers and amplifiers, and maybe more. But the more communication is combined into a single network, the greater the likelihood of interference and problems.
Using virtual VLAN domains to isolate different types of data is the best solution, but this type of setup also requires some computer experience. The SWP1 series includes three default VLAN presets that can be selected via a simple DIP switch. There is also a user mode (User) allowing full customization of VLAN configuration.
Reliability is essential when it comes to live sound applications. Conventional network switches normally have RJ45 connectors to match the connectors of the computers to which they are connected., but the SWP1 series has connectors that are directly compatible with the etherCON connectors on Yamaha CL/QL series consoles and other Dante-capable devices.
SWP1-8MMF and SWP1-16MMF include opticalCON connectors for multimode fiber optics. Both models allow transmission distances of up to 300 metros. MMF-SWP1 fiber optic module can be added (optional) to use two fiber optic cables and achieve a redundant connection. Also supports RSTP protocol support (Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol) for redundant connections.
Advantages of network visibility
Yamaha SWP1 series network switches have been specifically created so that users can get the maximum benefit with the greatest ease of use and configuration. Enable advanced network visibility and Dante optimization with a simple touch, while taking full advantage of Dante audio stream management capabilities.
Finally, It should be noted that Yamaha exhibits the possibilities offered by its wireless MusicCast system that allows you to control everything from an intuitive application, quick and easy to use. Both sound bars, wireless speakers, AV receivers or a hi-fi system can be managed from a single interface.
Regarding built-in speakers, Yamaha demonstrates different models of the VXC and VXS series.
