Albalá technology helps the live and 4K broadcast of the opera Parsifal
The equipment for ultra-high resolution production that Albala Ingenieros has supplied integrates EOP2000 electro-optical ports and HVP3000 preselectors, which will facilitate the transport of signals between the mobile unit and other locations in the theater, via fiber optic.
He Royal Theater from Madrid, RTVE e Hispasat have come together in an ambitious audiovisual project that will allow filming, broadcast and record in 4K technology (Ultra High Definition-UHD), with a resolution four times higher than conventional high definition, some of the productions from the Madrid stage.
Today Thursday, 21 April, the first of these live and satellite broadcasts will take place with the opera Parsifal by Richard Wagner, which is performed these days at the Teatro Real, and which can be seen in the Kinépolis cinemas in Madrid, with production, realization and technical coordination of RTVE and the Teatro Real, and whose retransmission will be carried out by Hispasat satellite.
Albalá Engineers has supplied to Abacanto Solutions part of the telecommunications infrastructure equipment used in the Teatro Real for the 4K production of the opera Parsifal, whose first act is broadcast live today at seven in the afternoon.
The equipment supplied for ultra-high resolution production consists of EOP2000 electro-optical ports and HVP3000 preselectors that will facilitate the transport of signals between the mobile unit and other locations in the theater, via fiber optic.
Recording in 4K, technology that multiplies signal quality with twice the lines of resolution, will be transmitted through Albalá Ingenieros' fiber optic links using a single fiber with CWDM technology.
4K technology offers an image resolution of 4.000 pixels, four times more than high definition. The viewer enjoys greater quality in the perception of color and textures, appreciates details better and has a vision much closer to reality.
In relation to sound, This format allows the use of immersive technologies that, united with the hyperrealistic quality of the image, make it the ideal vehicle for a show such as opera or dance.
This project has also had the collaboration of Kinepolis, Huri, Ovid, Evs, Dolby, Ericsson, Samsung, Sapec, Hewlett Packard, Ateme and the Spanish Radiotelevision Chair-UPM.
Richard Wagner's opera
Parsifal, Richard Wagner's opera, It is inspired by the medieval epic poem Parzival, de Wolfram von Eschenbach, about the life of King Arthur and the knight who sets out in search of the holy grail. The plot starts from the search, by the monk-knights of the Grail, of a pure and kind hero who can heal the wound of his leader. Parsifal, not knowing its origin and destination, undertakes a winding and difficult path of purification of the soul to achieve salvation.
In the production that can be seen in 4K, the stage director Claus Guth transfers the discouragement and orphanhood of the Grail knights in their Monsalvat castle to a sanatorium where the soldiers destroyed by the great war end up., in a devastated Europe, broken and aimless.
