“Electrosonic has worked closely with the IWM AV team, in the design of projections, in the advice for the placement of the speakers and in the specification of the control system”, explains Jo Saull, AV Interpretation Manager part Imperial War Museum.

This temporary exhibition offers an insight into “How filmmakers have used the inherent drama of war to show stories of love and loss, fear and anger, triumph and tragedy… achieving box office hits for the big screen.

For your part, touch screens offer visitors the opportunity to select between different movies, providing the interactive element to exhibitions.

Multiple channels of audio systems accompany the images and in some areas servers 7th Sense Delta Nano are used to transmit audio signal in seamless loop, in addition to taking care of video playback. This allows multiple visitors to listen to the audio through headphones, at the same time, and experience the sensations that are developing in front of them. For example, in the 'Saving Private Ryan' scene, where soldiers arrive for battle on Omaha Beach, Both video and audio are used to show the magnitude and devastation of the scene. Viewers can almost feel the fear and desperation of the soldiers.

“Electrosonic has created a custom interface, which is very simple to use and allows us to monitor and control all aspects of the gallery system, over a wireless network, or from the control room, located several floors away from the gallery. We can replace the timeline by programming as required and this has given us the flexibility to adapt to the needs of the museum”, comments Matt Garrett, AV Infrastructure Manager part IWM.

Electrosonic worked with Idee and Klang to implement the exhibition's audio system, and to IK Multimedia to provide the media and equalization system.
