Acer expands its virtual reality offering to support the Windows Holographic platform
The manufacturer announces that in the first quarter of next year it will offer virtual reality systems (HMDs) via windows 10 Creators Update.
With the aim of expanding its proposal in virtual reality for types of users, Acer has announced its proposal for the Windows Holographic platform, which includes StarVR, the professional location-based entertainment system developed in collaboration with Starbreeze; Cinema-quality HMDs, as well as affordable headphones for Microsoft Windows Holographic Platform y ordenadores VR-Ready.
Some of these systems, like headphones, will be available on the market in the first quarter of 2017. The new HMDs, Designed to deliver progressive computing experiences and new ways to interact, will work with laptops.
The lightweight HMDs incorporate a camera for mixed reality applications and support resolutions up to 1,440×1.440p for each eye, with integrated sensors for geolocation with up to six degrees of degree of freedom (DoF) for simple setups and allowing users to move freely while using the device.
