El estadio de Şükrü Saraçoğlu, headquarters of the Fenerbahçe football club, has implemented advanced digital signage solutions, IPTV, streaming and WiFi connections to boost content on 150 screens that are installed in these sports facilities.

Fenerbahçe SK is one of the best-known football clubs in the world whose headquarters are located at the Şükrü Saraçoğlu stadium in Istanbul. (Türkiye). It was inaugurated in 1907 and has been renewed between 1999 y 2003, increasing its capacity to more than 50.000 spectators.

To ensure its fans an optimal experience on the field, it has opted to invest and implement advanced digital signage solutions., IPTV, streaming and WiFi connections.

The implementation project has been carried out by its sponsor Turk Telekom, who investigated in search of a technology that was scalable and would allow him to boost the 150 screens installed in the stadium. The chosen option was the technology of Tripleplay next to Ericsson.

“The Tripleplay solution allows us to offer Full HD content in each of the 150 screens without significant impact on bandwidth. The platform also offers a very easy-to-use management interface to create our own digital signage content., templates and designs. Besides, This platform provides a wide variety of features, including video on demand, media streaming and different digital signage tools”, explica Baran Yurdagül, Connectivity Management Director de Türk Telekom

In addition to reducing the load on the network, through its smart delivery technology, The Tripleplay platform has also provided other benefits to Fenerbahçe and the Türk Telekom team.

Before investing in new technology, video content was distributed over a standard analog television network that, although functional, did not offer the flexibility or quality of an IP-based system.

“Tripleplay and Ericsson have provided us with a high-quality solution that allows us to distribute advertising images and scheduled videos, ensuring we can promote services to fans when they are in the stadium. Besides, we have the ability to change the information displayed on the screens at any time and on an individual basis, giving us the opportunity to better engage our fans and deliver communications with very little notice”, comenta Baran Yurdagül.

The Tripleplay platform is integrated into the Fenerbahçe fan engagement application, allowing the images and actions they take on social networks to be displayed on the stadium screens. Besides, Its modular structure secures the investment made, preparing it for future updates.
