The new Secretary of State for the Information Society and the Digital Agenda of the Ministry of Industry , José María Lassalle, after the appointment made public in the Council of Ministers last Friday, adds to this responsibility that until the last legislature Víctor Calvo-Sotelo had, the definition and execution of the digital agenda for the coming years, since the one approved in 2013 and it is necessary to renew it to achieve the objectives set in this matter by the European Union for the year 2020.
For Lasa, who has been Secretary of State for Culture between 2011 y 2016, and since 2004 deputy for Cantabria (your region of origin) by the Popular Party, has had special relevance in the last year due to the digital canon, that began to be paid as an item of the General State Budgets and that, later, the Court of Justice of the European Union itself declared it illegal.
