In the lobby of this building 14 floors and 86.936 square meters, An information center has been located that is presided over by a curved Nanolumens LED screen that has a pixel pitch of 4,7 mm and a viewing area of 7.5×1,5 metros.
The new university campus Western Sydney It is located in the Parramatta area, in the heart of sydney (Australia). It is a building 14 floors and 86.936 square meters through which a large number of students pass every day.
““It is one of the most technologically advanced learning centers in Australia and it was only fitting that the main lobby of the building would also feature an information display in line with the rest of the building.”, explica Kerry Holling, WSU Chief Information and Digital Officer.
Keeping this large number of students informed and engaged with campus news and events was a challenge.. Digital Place Solutions consultants (DPS) They turned to technology NanoLumens to find the most suitable solution.
The result, according to Stephen Rubie, managing director de DPS, has been a curved Led screen with a pixel pitch of 4,7 mm. “which surrounds the central wall and adapts to the structure of the information center”.
This curved screen is located directly behind the information desk and its design perfectly matches the curvature of the wall, allowing optimal viewing of the dynamic images. ““At first the idea for this information area did not include a screen because the architect did not believe it would be possible to find equipment that would adapt to the overall design of the space.”, Rubie comments..
Mounting the screen did not require any modifications to the wall. This display of 350 kilos has a display area of 7.5×1,5 meters and wraps around a very tight radius, with a depth of 100 mm and only requires two circuits of 15 amps.
“Another aspect to highlight is that it generates very little heat so it was not necessary to install fans or adapt any type of special ventilation.. In fact, people sit all day directly in front of the screen. The result is a very comfortable work area that features an incredibly bright screen., attractive and highly energy efficient”, aclara Hollings.
