Crestron and Electric String take the Ineos corporate gym to a new AV dimension

The project is based on the creation of an audio system, video and control for employees who use this sports space located at the headquarters of the chemical and petroleum products manufacturer, where users have fully flexible control and access to any content on installed systems.

Offer a differential and personalized user experience in the use of technology compared to other corporate gyms, with common standard systems for all or with the user's own players has been the objective sought Ineos, multinational chemical and petroleum products, with the project carried out by Electric String, in collaboration with Crestron, with the deployment of an audio solution, video and control in which the user chooses their own content and creates their own experience.

Specifically, A system managed by a Crestron 3-Series Pro3 processor has been designed, with two TSW type touch panels 10,1 inches with which the user can interact to choose their content, and an iPad Air for so-called 'super users', all managed through Crestron DigitalMedia, which provides a distribution of 4K video content to the large main screen of this space, with a size of 98”, and to the three additional screens, mounted from the ceiling.

The Crestron 3-Series Control Processor, together with DigitalMedia, provides the perfect balance between ease of use, simplicity and flexibility in this space. This is what Rob Sullivan points out, commercial manager of the company: “The real key was to give gym users totally flexible control and access to any content they wanted from the installed system.”, something that is simply not offered in this type of spaces”.

Gym users have access to instructor microphone, Internet radio, Instructor AirPlay for user-selected classes, streaming de audio ‘jukebox virtual’, television with DTT and satellite, Blu-Ray and CD, as well as a connection point for third-party devices.

One of the aspects that have been taken into detail in this project has been the design and operation of the user interface to ensure that the system complements, instead of complicating, the exercise program chosen by each user. Electric String has worked to offer maximum device compatibility, providing a perfect training and work system with the help of these technologies, with training for both instructors and users.

Advanced digital audio signal processing has optimized sound in an environment that would normally be annoying and confusing.. For this reason, the materials and equipment installed in the gym have been carefully selected., including mirrors, floor, training machines, etc. in order to achieve high quality sound with precise control of acoustics.

Users not only have the option to select different audio and/or video sources, but to control the sources. Besides, can choose different AV sources so that on-demand workouts are displayed along with personalized exercises on the screens.

Electric String supplies video to digital screens (the central 98” and three additional) through a Crestron DM matrix, providing images in the highest possible quality from source devices, in addition to providing virtually unlimited flexibility in the configuration of the distributed content.
