The Mad Cool Space finalizes preparations to host the most ambitious edition of Mad Cool Festival

The new venue will house 12 al 14 from July to about 80.000 people a day, that will be distributed in the seven scenarios that it has this year.

The third edition of Mad Cool Festival is in an intense phase of preparations in the new venue – called Espacio Mad Cool- located in the Madrid neighborhood of Valdebebas-Ifema, fruit of the collaboration agreement between the City hall and the Community of Madrid.

Regarding the last edition (more data in Digital AV), the edition 2018 Mad Cool Festival increases all its digits, both in space (with an extension of 100.000 m2), as in capacity (nails 80.000 people per day, which almost doubles that of last year), scenarios (that go from five to seven), an electronic music tent and restaurant area, rest and leisure.

Mad Cool Festival maintains its essence as a great musical event, cultural and artistic in Madrid, in which they coexist harmoniously during the three days of duration (of the 12 al 14 July), performances by top-level international artists, like Pearl Jam, Depeche Mode, Artic Monkeys, Dua Lipa, DVSN, Jack White, Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, Massive Attack, Franz Ferdinand, Jack Johnson, inter alia, with new promises of bands and musical genres, along with creative sections such as Mad Cool Gallery and the Art Market.

More musical offering and variety is the proposal from the festival management, led by Javier Arnaiz, offered this year, surpassing other festivals held in Spain, like the recently celebrated Primavera Sound, or Sonar, BBK Live o FIB, inter alia.

Through the seven stages of the new venue, which will premiere in just a month with this festival, more than a hundred artists will pass, some of them absent from Spanish musical events for many years and, concretely, madrileños, as in the case of Pearl Jam. Therefore, the preparations to adapt this space in terms of access (in the absence of confirming the use of the Line 8 of the Metro), communications, safety and evacuation plan, and transportation, They started last March.

Currently working on the internal spaces, with locations of the different scenarios, technical and communications infrastructure for the operationalization of all production, in which when the third edition of Mad Cool begins, some 3.500 people dedicated to security, logistics, sound, lightning, audiovisual systems, assemblers, installers, and a long etc.

Regarding the artistic proposal of Mad Cool Gallery, in which emerging talent in disciplines such as photography is encouraged, the illustration, etc. fifty works have been selected (25 of each category, of a total of 462 photographic proposals and 396 illustrations presented) by a jury formed by Ana Belén García, head of exhibitions at PhotoEspaña; Jorge Salgado,general coordinator of the International Center of Photography and Film (AFTER), and the organization of Mad Cool Festival itself, that will be exhibited at the festival site.
