NEC solutions complement Covent Garden's new approach
To support the Open Up project of the Royal Opera House in London, that seeks to open culture to the entire society, NEC has provided its large format screens and projection solutions.
NEC Display Solutions Europe support the project Open Up from the Royal Opera House (ROH) from London, also known as Covent Garden, providing different visualization and projection solutions for the most important performing arts space in the UK capital.
The Open Up initiative is rooted in the belief that opera and ballet should be enjoyed by everyone. Along with major architectural and design changes, New technology and visual stimuli will enhance the experience of visitors to the Royal Opera House.
The official inauguration of the redesign took place on 19 September. Major improvements include new inputs, large living rooms and terraces, a new coffee, bar and restaurant, along with an extensive program of events, Free daytime activities and festivals for all ages.
The live performances, the exhibits and collections in the entrance and front area, along with innovative display solutions throughout the building, have been supplied and installed by NEC and Invite yourself, the partner and solutions provider.

With this initiative, the ROH seeks greater accessibility, contributing to the modernization of European culture. The new building represents its values of excellence, theatricality and curiosity.
The main objective is to attract new visitors and offer original experimental performances, in addition to a more traditional repertoire.
Among the NEC solutions that have been installed is a curved LED screen of 90 degrees and 28,5 square meters at the entrance, which opens onto Covent Garden and attracts the attention of the millions of visitors to this iconic part of central London.
A large format screen has been installed in the commercial area of the Royal Opera House. 84 inches. Besides, Four NEC projectors are combined to create a unified solution in an open-plan room near the cafeteria.. Both the cafeteria and the ballet area are equipped with large format screens of 40, 65 y 84 inches.
