He Indiana Convention Center (ICC) has replaced its old static signaling network with a digital one, based on dvLED technology from SNA Displays, to be used for brand creation, orientation, live broadcast, advertising and artistic content.

This network allows ICC clients a much more visual and dynamic way to communicate with event attendees.

“We look for ways to help our clients meet their needs and that includes showing them new ways to communicate with guests at their events and providing branding opportunities for their partners and sponsors.”, explains Tom Boyle, COO of ICC and LOS. “Digital signs allow us a lot of flexibility and creativity, while keeping single-use signs out of landfills. “Our goal was to offer customers the most advanced technology available.”.

The new digital signage network of the ICC consists of 13 Bold indoor Led screens. A solution that features a pixel pitch of 2,5 mm. These are a mix of single sided displays and double sided flag banners.

Highlights include a three-screen setup at the convention center entrance, which measures approximately 4,6 meters high and 12,8 wide and a bulkhead 6,7 meters long (540×2.720 pixels) located in the hallway that connects the convention center with the Lucas Oil stadium. In total, The ICC's network of digital screens processes some 19 million pixels.

“These solutions are a great way to greet our guests and provide them with information about the center's facilities and partners.. “They are especially attractive to our clients who use both the convention center and the stadium because they allow us to incorporate messages in the hallway that connects the two buildings.”, said Boyle.

“This is a massive CMS implementation for a convention center, as it brings linked infrastructure from Lucas Oil Stadium to the convention center so venues can be unified and synchronized as needed”, explains Pat Green, vice president of systems at SNA Displays. “The content management system was designed to monitor the convention center displays using the same methods and workflow that SNA Displays designed for Lucas Oil Stadium, allowing staff to monitor both facilities from a single control room”.

WJHW provided consulting and design services for the project on behalf of the CIB. The signage solutions company Huston Signs provided installation services.
