Sony will take Medica 2018 the first native 4K external camera 3 chips of the world
From the source to the monitor and documentation in Full HD resolution, 4K, 3D y HDR, Sony attends this medical industry event with unique developments that will be shown for the first time in Europe.
Of the 12 al 15 next November, Sony will show at the contest Medica 2018 (pavilion 10 – stand H57), in the German city of Düsseldorf, new solutions that improve hospitals' imaging workflow in Full HD, 4K, 3D y HDR, with its integrated NUCLeUS platform.
“In Medical 2018 We will highlight our well-deserved position as a technological partner for doctors, integrators and manufacturers - says Dimitry van Kemenade, marketing manager in Sony Professional Solutions Europe-. Our continuous technological innovations, from lighting to display, with a wide range of integrated smart solutions, focus on delivering tangible clinical benefits, in addition to great efficiency in hospital workflows”.
Among these intelligent solutions for digital operating rooms, NUCLeUS stands out, an integrated clinical workflow platform, scalable and vendor independent, that unifies the visualization, Recording and distribution of surgical images with exceptional quality and flexibility.
Surgical content captured in the operating room can be recorded to a central server for training and education purposes, or sent in real time through the hospitals' network infrastructure to consultations and other areas of the hospital center. The potential of NUCLeUS can be expanded through a wide range of smart applications, as a graphics platform that allows surgeons to communicate in real time with other doctors throughout the hospital center, and of which a demonstration will be made in this contest.
One of Sony's great innovations focuses on the field of image solutions, demonstrating the potential of 4K 3D imaging for applications such as microsurgery. This advanced technology, currently in development, has been included in the first native 4K external camera of 3 chips, Designed for use in operating rooms with surgical microscopes.
Combining two of these cameras, it is possible to capture 3D images of a microscope in full 4K resolution, así como mostrar las imágenes 4K 3D resultantes en un monitor médico 4K 3D de gran tamaño -de 55 inches-, which is an ideal solution in operating rooms and surgery.
Sony will also exhibit for the first time at Medica 2018 the new two-piece Full HD medical camera system, with ultra high sensitivity, especially indicated in surgical microscope applications, such as neurology and ophthalmology. This new camera also includes HDR function and will be available from January 2019.
Another proposal is to show how HDR technology (high dynamic range) can complement clinical imaging applications with a new 27” 4K medical monitor, which will be marketed from April 2019, offering an impressive level of detail, wide range of colors and high brightness 800 cd/m2, que mejora el flujo de trabajo quirúrgico de forma fácil y rentable.
In training and education, the virtual reality (VR) offers excellent possibilities. The company will present a future environment with this conceptualized technology, gracias a NUCLeUS, allowing surgical images from multiple sources to be synchronized and combined with patient data and other information.
With all this, The creation of an immersive simulation is possible so that surgeons and other clinical experts can remotely 'participate' in surgical interventions, while reducing the risk of infections for the patient.
