Portuguese winery Cálem creates an immersive and sensory space to explore the history of wine
To explore the history of wine, The Cálem winery has created an interactive museum in which a complete audiovisual infrastructure has been installed, made up of 12 Panasonic projectors and four screens, as well as a video wall configured with four TH-55LFV displays.
Wine takes on a new dimension, innovative and technological, in the Cálem winery, located in the coastal district of Porto, birthplace of portuguese wine. From the hand of Panasonic y Sleepy, has installed an interactive museum where visitors can enjoy an immersive and innovative experience that allows them to delve deeper into the Port wine production process.. An immersive and sensory journey that begins in the vineyards and ends in the winery.
The Cálem winery is located near the Luis I bridge, a location that has contributed to transforming it into one of the most visited wineries in Vila Nova de Gaia. The details of the logo that represents the company reveal a caravel, symbol of transatlantic trade that became the main line of activity of the winery during its beginnings in the 19th century.
To transform the room and turn it into an interactive museum, Cálem needed a technological partner to help create the desired environment and take the winery visit to another level. Ésystems was the partner that accepted the challenge and decided to equip the room with visual solutions from Panasonic, among which stands out a videomapping that projects images and videos of interest to the visitor in the environment.
Besides, The museum has a 4D room that recreates the wine process in a comprehensive way, making your story known through all the senses. The installation has sounds and smells that are combined with the projected images. Passing through the room leaves a visual memory thanks to technological equipment that manages to abstract and amaze. Sounds and images are combined to achieve an optical game through different dimensions, movements, objects and colors.
“This is a new space that shows the potential of technology to create an unforgettable cultural experience.”. We have revolutionized the way of learning about the history of the winery, something that is arousing a lot of interest among citizens and travelers, since the number of visits has increased since the installation”, comments Vasco Santos, CMO of Ésistemas.
The equipment is made up of 10 laser projectors PT-RZ970, which stand out for their long durability and allow the museum to remain open throughout the day; as well as a PT model- RZ670 and other PT-RZ470, both belonging to a compact size range from Panasonic that provides high luminosity to images to achieve a striking visual effect.
Regarding screens, a TH-98LQ70 display provides the necessary resistance to fit within the winery environment, as well as other professional environments where robust materials that can take knocks without problem are required.. On the other hand, a TH-65EF1 model and two TH-55LFE8 displays are the Led screens that provide the most intuitive connectivity and usability to facilitate the installation of the immersive museum.
The video wall integrates four displays of the TH-55LFV model, a giant borderless screen and extremely thin frames that achieve the effect of enlarging the visual sensation. The color, Brightness and settings allow you to customize images to achieve the effect that best fits the environment.
