The technology of Panasonic has been chosen by the creative producer, specialized in digital installations, shows and events, Projection Artworks, to redefine the limits of mapping in three great shows that have been developed during this year that has just ended. For its staging, they have been used 70 PT-RZ31K projectors and 148 million pixels.

One of the projects consisted of carrying out a large mapping show with outdoor projection in the Azrieli Sarona tower in Tel Aviv (Israel), built in 2017. “Whenever we have worked on skylines we have used Panasonic PT-RZ31K projectors to create giant, uniform projection areas. This is our most reliable flagship product for skyline shows., since its powerful output 31.000 lumens allows for bright and bold projections in the most difficult conditions”, comenta Jackson Tayler, Head of Technology at Projection Artworks.

The second project was carried out at The Macallan in Scotland, which included creating an opening night for the whiskey brand that explained the company's history incorporating video content, 3D mapping techniques and lighting design. The screening took place at the famous distillery, whose design is integrated into the landscape. “The project included a very complex projection area and many PT-RZ31Ks were used to enhance the unique architecture of the Scottish environment in an intense and spectacular way”, adds Jackson Tayler.

The magnitude of the project meant that the projectors had to be reliable and adaptable to a wide variety of conditions.. “The PT-RZ31K is a 3DLP laser projector, light and easy to carry, designed for the rental sectors, events and large spaces. Not only does it offer a high contrast light source with a long lifespan, but, thanks to its lower energy consumption (little less than 11 Amps), “It allows us to perform many more operations with fewer energy limitations.”, comments Trevor Nichol, Production Director at Projection Artworks.

The objective of Projection Artworks was to install the same projectors to perform several shows on different continents, because it was an important consideration.

“By using the PT-RZ31K on all of our projects we were able to apply the correct number of lumens per square meter for the ambient light in the environment and also get enough light so that all building materials had a unified look.”, from glazing and wood to glass. The precision and color reproduction allowed our test bench to, in our studio, Until our on-site projection we had a color workflow that encouraged creativity and ensured that the subtlest details were not lost.”, Trevor clarifies..

The third project was a mapping show for Gulf Air held at the Four Seasons hotel in Bahrain. It included an aeronautical-style projection for the launch of its new plane, he 787 Dreamliner.
