Allen's technology & Heath helped stage 'Carmina Burana'’ in Alcalá de Henares
For the representation of this scenic cantata, the dLive system was used.. Given the high number of mixing channels, a solution was conceived by stems, with one surface S7000+DM64 and another S5000+DM64.
Last September the representation was held in Alcalá de Henares Carmina Burana, that with his famous 'Oh Fortuna!' is possibly the most famous stage cantata in Western music.
The interpretation was carried out by the City of Alcalá Orchestra, School of Singers and the Complutense Symphonic Band and Choirs of Alcalá de Henares. The organization was run by Alcalá de Henares City Council.
The company Sector Pro took charge of the technical production of the event, with the collaboration of Sorter in the design and execution of audio production. Concretely, Roke Hernández was in charge of the sound design and mixing concept, con 128 canales.
The live mix was in charge of engineer José Dalama, who used the dLive system for the first time at a large-scale event. Allen & Heath, and was assisted by Gabriel Albornoz, manager of Pro Audio Audio-Technica Iberia, Allen importers & Heath for Spain.
Given the high number of mixing channels, a mix by stems was conceived, with two A systems&H dLive: one surface S7000+DM64 and another S5000+DM64.
The S5000 system, operated by Gabriel Albornoz, received the signals 31 microphones (choirs) and others 32 of string instruments. Once these sections are mixed, six signals were sent in stereo to the S7000 system, operated by José Dalama. These stereos corresponded to low strings, high strings and four chorus lines. On the S7000 system, who performed the function of master table and sending to PA, José Dalama added the remaining soloists and instruments.
The result was a rich and 'round' mixture., with a great level of detail and spectacular dynamics in the peak moments of the work.
