The new models to be flown SXCF118 and SXC115 have been designed to complement the manufacturer's WPS and WPM line arrays.

Nominees for both live sound and fixed installations, the new compact high-performance cardioid subwoofers from Martin Audio: SXCF118 and SXC115, They are designed to be flown and, specifically, to accompany the optimized WPS line array system in the first case, while the second earth model is designed for WPM.

The Martin Audio SXCF118 subwoofer, brand that sells Audio-technica Iberia, combines powerful low frequency output with optimal pattern control. It has an 18” forward-facing transducer (460 mm) and a 14” rear-facing transducer (356 mm), each independently powered by its own amplification channel and DSP.

Each transducer has its own chamber with optimized reflex ports. This arrangement produces a cardioid dispersion pattern that increases frontal radiation, while reducing unwanted radiation behind the subwoofer.

The recommended iK42 amplifier optimizes the DSP parameters of the front and rear drivers to maximize rear rejection, de 21dB a 43Hz a 28dB a 75Hz.

This keeps low frequencies away from stages and walls, in addition to reducing the reverberant energy in the room, which greatly improves the precision of the low frequency response and the impact of the entire system.

At the front of the enclosure, the output of both transducers is additive, providing 2 extra dB output, if compared to a subwoofer of 1×18” conventional.

The enclosure is built with wood laminate, and finished with a solid textured paint. It is equipped with handles and steel grates, with foam backing to protect the front and rear transducers.

Integrated flying hardware, together with the WPSGridt allows the SXCF118 subwoofer to be incorporated on top of a WPS array, or be flown as a separate array next.

The SXC115 model has similar characteristics and has a 15” front transducer (380 mm) and a 12” rear transducer (300 mm), each independently powered by its own amplification channel and DSP.

Each transducer has its own chamber with optimized reflex ports. At the front of the enclosure, the output of both transducers is additive, providing 2 extra dB output, when compared to a subwoofer of 1 x 15” conventional, y 21 dB a 43 Post rejection Hz. It is an ideal complement to WPM or a Martin Audio point source speaker mast mount..

Dom Harter, Managing Director of Martin Audio, “We were delighted with the initial response to our cardioid subwoofer last year and this has really driven demand to launch these two new products.”. This also means that we have introduced 12 new products in the first three months of the year, which is a record number of new things for us in such a short time”.
