Nokia will share its disruptive 'telepresence' concept at the 5G Virtual Forum

The director of Nokia Bell Labs Spain, Alvaro Villegas, will present a disruptive device that allows conventional video calls to be converted to 'teleportation'.

The meeting 5G Forum, which will be held in Spain in the coming days 6 y 7 May completely virtual, will share with your attendees, hand in hand with the Finnish multinational Nokia, new and revolutionary concepts such as 'telepresence'.

Alvaro Villegas, director of Nokia Bell Labs Spain, will present a device through which users will go from conventional video calls to 'teleportation', and that the multinational has called the owl (The owl).

This device would be placed at a point within a group of people, providing immersive audio and 360º vision to a person who is connected remotely, with virtual reality glasses.

“It is a completely immersive experience, we have a 360º vision. You feel like you are there because you can ask, interrupt and feel like you are somewhere else”, explains Villegas.

Besides, during his participation in the 5G Virtual Forum, The director of Nokia Bell Labs in Spain will also present other use cases, like 5Geve, 5GPerfecta, Unicrinf and the 5GMobix project, that address topics such as the real behavior of the network and 5G services, proper emergency and remote driving protocols, among others.

All these cases will also be available in the online demonstration area of ​​the 5G Virtual Forum, with an assigned expert to whom attendees can request video meetings.
