Bagel Biz combines NoviSign and Sharp technologies to upgrade your digital signage network
In order to maximize sales and include a new avenue of income through advertising, This New York restaurant has replaced its old solution with PN-R556 and PN-M651 screens, plus NoviSign digital menu board software.
In 1986, Bagel Us opened a small bagel shop called Dan's Bagel Cafe about 457 square meters in New York's East Meadow to later open a second location on Route 110 and Melville. Since then, the store has grown to 1.158 square meters, where it offers local and national deliveries of its bagels.
Every week, receive more than 4.000 customers in the store and deliver thousands of muffins daily throughout the country. Given the amount of traffic in the store and the customer-centric culture, Bagel Biz was looking for new ways to improve the way it communicated with customers through digital signage and digital menu boards..
They were looking for a solution that would allow them to easily display their menu in an attractive and highly visible way for customers waiting in line.. To achieve their goals they had to overcome three challenges. The first is that in the New York area, the main distributor of deli meats is Boars Head and they determine what can and cannot be sold in terms of deli meats for sandwiches. They had installed two digital menus 42 inches on BagelBiz to show lunch and sandwich specials for the day.
When Bagel Biz would like to make a change to the price or items, they would have to do it directly through Boars Head digital signage marketing. The changes would take days to make and the digital menu boards provided by Boars Head were basic and unattractive in design.
The second challenge they faced was that they used traditional signage to advertise breakfast and daily specials.. Every time a change had to be made new menu signage had to be reprinted and installed every few months.
The third challenge to solve is that Bagel Biz has a massive clientele of catering customers and wanted to consider using digital signage as a vehicle to generate advertising revenue.. In this way, the cost of the digital signage solution could be offset with this revenue.
The project was commissioned S3 LLC, an official partner of NoviSign, which proposed this company's technology as a solution to update the signage of the entire store, after identifying the requirements, the current signaling process and critical points. Photos were taken of existing display and signage locations and a complete solution was presented.
The result was a total update of the solution they had at that time. A total of seven new menu boards and advertising screens were installed.
Two digital signage screens were replaced 42 inches of Boars Head per two Sharp PN-R556 de 55 inches, and Shuttle PC and the NoviSign solution. These new displays are used to show Looping Lunch and Sandwich specials.
Two televisions were also replaced. 42 inches, which were used to provide local news broadcasts, for two screens equal to the previous ones and the same solutions. One shows a local news broadcast and the other is used strictly for local customer advertising and generating revenue.
A third change was made with a 42 inches, used to display Deli catering screens by using a USB stick. You now have a Sharp PN-M651 screen 65 inches that also includes NoviSign, showing looping catering menu with catering manager contact information.
Finally, Two traditional signage systems have been replaced by two PN-M651 screens showing the different types of Bargels., spreads, menus and breakfasts, in addition to using one of them to advertise Door Dash and Grub Hub food delivery services.
NoviSign Digital Menu Board software is an easy-to-use product, thus allowing Bagel Biz to easily control and manage all their operations on menu boards and store signage. From being able to easily make changes on the fly to special prices and offers, to update the panels from any computer at any time and remotely. In this way, the company has full control over communications and advertising.
“The NoviSign solution combined with Sharp screens allows us to have an eye-catching and dynamic digital menu board system that helps us sell more bagels while generating recurring monthly income from the sale of advertising.. Our traffic and busy store/restaurant provide a significant opportunity for quality advertising exposure at a very reasonable cost.. “Numerous local businesses have chosen to advertise with us on our forums.”, says the owner of Bagel Biz.
