Prolights illuminates with more than 1.200 lamps the RTL Power Hits edition 2020 at the Verona Arena

This amphitheater, located in the Italian city of the same name, has shone brighter than ever for this musical gala without an audience with the largest display of lighting made to date.

The emblematic Verona Arena has recently hosted the edition RTL 102.5 Power Hits 2020, which rewards the musical song with the most radio broadcasts during the summer months, complying with the Italian Government's regulations to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Well-known Italian singers have performed in person at the event, in which lighting has been a fundamental element, under the responsibility of the specialist Rooster Srl.

“Due to the pandemic, the edition 2020 of RTL Power Hits has been different compared to previous years – explains Emilio Lombardi, owner of Mod Srl-. The stage was not on the South side as usual, but in the center. The chairs that are normally in the facility were removed to set up and work safely.. With these changes, It was equally important to make the event even more impressive than before. That's why the lights were the key.".

Lighting designer Francesco De Cave prepared the list of products and their installation, with the selection of luminaires from the Italian manufacturer Prolights, specifically the SunBar 2000FC models, EclCyclorama 100, SunBlast 3000FC, Stark 1000, SunRise 4, Solar y Luma 1500SH.

Located on the bands at the back of the stage were the SunBlast and SunBar luminaires to create an ideal lighting background for the cameras.. EclCyclorama bars “are a good asymmetric projector, perfect for backgrounds. In this production I used them to illuminate the musicians from below the stage and avoid shadows under the chin.”, De Cave points out.

SunBars 2000FC systems were used to create stunning lighting effects captured by the drones that were part of the show, giving life to the public seats, which were empty due to capacity restrictions.

“These facilities are incredibly brilliant, each one composed of eight cells -adds Emilio Lombardi-. We use a Hog 4 for pixel mapping, since it gave me the opportunity to create and reproduce a multitude of effects”.

The lighting project was completed with the installation of more than three hundred SunBar, both on stage and on the grounds of the Verona Arena, positioned so that they could display the RTL Power Hits logo, after the design of Francesco De Cave.

For Lombardi, “This great display of lighting has made the atmosphere very particular.”, and the final result has been incredible. Nobody before had had the opportunity to illuminate the Verona Arena with 1.200 Prolights lamps and products have once again exceeded expectations”.
