Vans opens its Gangnam store with Harman-based audio coverage

The first floor has a “shoppable timeline” of vintage items, books, vinyl records and much more, as well as a DJ booth and a working vintage speaker wall. To provide balanced audio coverage for background music and special events on both levels, The store needed high-quality speakers and a flexible zone management system.. To achieve these objectives, TechDataPS equipped the store with next-generation JBL Control Series speakers, Crown amplifiers and dbx zone processors.

To ensure optimal audio coverage and clarity, TechDataPS deployed a range of JBL Control Series speakers throughout the store. The JBL Control full-range hanging speakers 65 P/T provide uniform conical coverage of 120 degrees throughout the showroom, thanks to Radiation Boundary Integrator technology.

These are complemented by JBL Control in-ceiling speakers. 16 C/T, that offer crystal clear sound 62 Hz a 20 kHz with a coverage of 110 degrees. The JBL Control CRV architectural speakers have a curved design that allowed TechDataPS to easily mount them in the corners of the space.

Crown CDi amplifiers 4|600, Featuring patented DriveCore technology for high-performance amplification and unprecedented efficiency, were selected to power the speakers.

dbx ZonePRO 1260m digital zone processors allowed the team to separate the system into multiple zones for independent control of each area of ​​the store, including vintage speaker wall. Wall-mounted dbx ZC8 zone controllers give staff the ability to easily assign zones and control volume levels.
