Acciona Cultural Engineering carries out a mapping show at the Lima Airport
The new control tower Jorge Chávez International Airport of Lima (Peru) has served as a canvas for the mapping show carried out by the Spanish specialist Acciona Cultural Engineering.
Lima Airport Partners (LAP), operator of the Jorge Chávez International Airport of Lima, has selected Acciona Cultural Engineering to carry out an audiovisual show with projections on the new control tower, which is the protagonist of the expansion project of this facility in the Peruvian capital.
The show of mapping, made the past 14 of July and as part of the celebrations for the bicentennial of the independence of Peru, was projected on the new control tower, of 65 meters high that is being built as part of the expansion project and that will make this airport complex one of the largest and most modern in South America.
Through the mapping technique, the show incorporated the latest projection technologies with special effects, lighting and music, with the aim of showing the heritage wealth of a country through whose airport thousands of tourists pass every year.
Due to the health crisis caused by COVID-19 and complying with all the restrictions decreed by the authorities to guarantee health and safety, The event had the participation of LAP directors, partners of the concessionaire and authorities of the Peruvian government. In parallel, The show was broadcast live on streaming on the social media channels of this operator.
The audiovisual show took a narrative tour, almost nine minutes long, with representative images from different periods, from ancient Peru to business Peru, with a vision set on the future to show the cultural wealth, the traditions and singularities of the country.
The show also included a brief tribute to Jorge Chávez, hero of Peruvian aviation and in whose honor the airport is named, as well as a recognition to Peruvian society, to their indigenous communities, to the Creole Peruvian and to the people who work at the airport.
Finally, The audiovisual narration dedicated a space to recognize the work of the builders and engineers participating in the airport expansion project, led by Lima Airport Partners, and the new control tower as an 'emblematic milestone of the project', states the statement.
In the construction of this new tower participates Action, through the Wayra Consortium, that will allow two landing strips to operate and improve air traffic control in the country, and that it has been a joint effort between the construction division of the company in Peru and Acciona Cultural Engineering.
For audiovisual production, The latter has developed illustrations with a typically Peruvian graphic identity, as well as photographs and 2D and 3D graphics computer generated.
Regarding the technical equipment of the event, have been used four projectors professionals, each with a power of 20.000 lumens, who turned the new control tower into a gigantic projection screen using the mapping technique, with three-dimensional effects.
Synchronized with the projections, A light show was offered for which twelve robotic spotlights and twenty LED spotlights that allowed the upper part of the tower to be integrated, still in works, in the audiovisual show.
