Signagelive manages Krispy Kreme's integrated digital menu network
Amped Digital, digital signage integrator, has deployed the cloud content management platform Signagelive in the establishments of Krispy Kreme from Australia and New Zealand.
Recognized as one of the most popular candy brands in the world, famous for its original glazed buns and coffees, Krispy Kreme currently operates in thirty countries. In the case of Australia, Their establishments were already taking advantage of the digital signage to manage screens digital menus, located on the counters, to offer the user purchase options and promotions.
The objective of the project was not to depend on the service provider in terms of day-to-day management and control of the content., and have internal staff handle updates and changes to menus and promotions.
The subcontracting of the content management to the external service provider caused, as explained by the company, unwanted delays in making important changes to variables such as prices, special offers and new products.
Krispy Kreme wanted a content management platform that was easy to use, reliable, scalable, as well as flexible enough to adapt to changes and integrate with other business systems. The firm's managers also wanted to reduce administration costs and monthly expenses for licenses and software infrastructure..
Another of the proposals of this process was to introduce screens of outdoor digital menu for the purchase from the car, offering a new option to customers in key locations, as well as a means to counteract the indoor ordering and dining restrictions required in the pandemic.
With all this, Krispy Kreme's goal was to become a new service provider for its establishments, but do it quickly and with minimal disruption. Any transition from one platform to a new one had to be transparent and invisible to customers.
The Australian Digital Signage Integrator Amped Digital won the tender for the project, which was awarded at the end of 2020, working with your partner Signagelive in the deployment of a software solution CMS.
“We were among some very strong and well-known system integrators and software providers - remember Dylan Holtzhausen de Amped Digital-. When we received the call as winners of the project, it was an important milestone for the team and the company.”.
The existing digital menu screens in Krispy Kreme stores in Australia and New Zealand had become outdated and needed to be replaced. This allowed Amped and Signagelive to take advantage of the reduced costs and optimized installation of smart signage systems from Samsung: all-in-one flat panel commercial displays, with media playback and storage functions with integrated SoC (more details in Digital AV).
By creating a network on the cloud-based Signagelive digital signage platform, Krispy Kreme has achieved several advantages, as a simple yet powerful software user experience, that can be managed entirely in-house.
Besides, It has secure and highly available cloud hosting, eliminating the daily management burden for Krispy Kreme's regional IT services team.
Another benefit is having a technologically agnostic, web-centric platform that uses tools such as player data tagging, locations and media assets to improve scheduling accuracy and content targeting, while reducing the work of updating and distributing new material daily.
“If the various elements of a digital signage network are described and labeled within Signagelive, It is possible to carry out programming and content orientation work in a matter of minutes, that on other platforms would take hours - he says Jason Cremins, CEO of this company. This assumes minimal management time to run the network, while providing maximum control over how things look and work”.
Inside the stores, more than two dozen stores throughout Australia and New Zealand, Setup involves a minimum of four screens tiled in a row, mounted behind the ordering counter.
The Amped team facilitated the training and implementation of the new digital display system to the Krispy Kreme team, adjusting it to your processes and management style. “We provide a highly effective implementation of the new solution and ongoing support services”, subraya Holtzhausen.
At the moment, Krispy Kreme staff manage the digital menu system and promotion and advertising display network in two countries and multiple time zones.
The network's team now has full control of its marketing initiatives and the ability to deliver content to its network of digital signage displays without relying on a third-party service provider..
