Zytronic multi-touch technology brings Hong Kong's City Gallery exhibition center to life
For the exhibition held at the City Gallery, multi-touch technology has been used. Zytronic, captured on a tempered glass surface 110 inches under which two screens of 55 inches that display the content.
One of the largest exhibitions in the center City Gallery of Honk Kong is using Zytronic multi-touch technology to offer visitors an interactive platform that informs them of the area's plans for a sustainable urban future.
City Gallery is an exhibition center that displays the vision of Hong Kong's development projects, both past and present. Administered by the Government Planning Department (HKSAR) It also acts as a platform to engage and inform the public about the sustainable future of the area.
One of the key exhibits in the gallery is an interactive rolling map of 110 inches wide, which allows visitors to see how the city's coastline and skyline have changed since the 1970s. 1840. Selecting highlighted areas on the map triggers audio-visual animations explaining why certain streets were named after them.
HKSAR Planning Department contacted local AV specialists Wide Smart Technology to create the design concept of the interactive exhibit. For the sample surface, The company designed a piece of tempered glass 110 inches under which two screens 55 inches, mounted end to end, view the content.
Wide Smart has collaborated with solution consultants and professional AV network designers for more than a decade to provide AV solution services in Hong Kong. For this project, The company partnered with Aspis Innovation Solutions.
Aspis has been Zytronic's distributor in Hong Kong for several years and was the natural choice to provide the large multi-touch sensor. At the heart of Zytronic's offering is projected capacitive technology (PCT y MPCT) offering the touch solution for applications located in public areas.
For this project, Aspis proposed the use of two multi-touch panels of 55 inches ZyFilm , which were manufactured at Zytronic's UK facilities.
Aspis laminated the two pieces of ZyFilm on the back of the source glass. There is only one space 8 mm between the two adjacent touch sensors and, when using the multi-touch controller ZXY500 de Zytronic, the company had the flexibility to calibrate them on site. Controllers provide fast, accurate touch and gesture feedback, and support up to one hundred simultaneous touch points, making it ideal for a large, multi-user installation, as several audience members can interact side by side with the touch screen.
“With this interactive multi-touch exhibit, “We offer City Gallery visitors a platform that engages and informs them about plans for a sustainable urban future.”, comment from the HKSAR Government Planning Department.
