4K-HDR Summit 2021

more than 400 executives and 2.000 visitors from 48 countries have participated in person and virtually in the 4K-HDR Summit 2021, which has been held in Malaga.

The organizer Medina Media Events, that has the magazine Panorama Audiovisual as a media partner, has announced the eighth edition of the 4K-HDR Summit. Its celebration will also be held in hybrid format, during the 14 to the 18 November 2022.

"In the eighth edition we will reinforce the face-to-face agenda, with at least two of the five days, and we will keep on our platform numerous virtual presentations, that allow us the participation of the best specialists from all over the world in Ultra High Definition (UHD), to share your progress and projects with all attendees, national and international, no need to move", Says Ricardo Medina, CEO of Medina Media Events.

"It is very difficult to match the agendas to move all of them and on the same dates to the same place. That is why the virtual part of the event complements the face-to-face of the 4K-HDR Summit and keeps the event alive for the international community. 365 days of the year on our Video on Demand platform (VOD) prior registration, for otherwise all that knowledge would be lost.", medina explains.

Among the milestones that the 7th edition of the 4K HDR Summit has had, the celebration of the Presidents Day, which is only held annually at this event, and which involves the meeting and debate of the three highest representatives of the associations of the Ultra High Definition (UHD) worldwide; the UHD Alliance (Michael Zink), the UltraHD Forum (Nandhu Nandhukamar) and the 8K Association (Chris Chinnock).

The hybrid format has allowed to gather in the 4K HDR Summit 2021 to the best 'speakers' worldwide in fields such as content, production, manufacturing or research.

In relation to 4K content, Hdr (High Dynamic Range) and 8K, among the more than 40 Speakers who formed this year's agenda have been representatives of the BBC (Great Britain), NHK (Japan), Obs (Olympic Broadcasting Services), NASA (USED), OMDIA (Great Britain), and the presidents and founders of pioneering production companies such as Travel XP 4K HDR (India) and the French The Explorers, Saint Thomas Productions and Paramax Films.

"No other event worldwide manages to bring them all together", says Medina, which he organized in 2015 the first edition of the 4K Summit.

UHD Spain

After editing 2020, that was totally virtual because of the pandemic, this year's edition has extended its agenda from three to five days and has had a marked Spanish accent, especially for hosting the first assembly of the association of UHD Spain. This was born in January and already has 36 partner and collaborating companies, among which are 20 Spanish audiovisual groups, private and public, national and regional.

"The physical reunion at the National Digital Content Pole in Malaga of one hundred professionals committed to Ultra High Definition in Spain has exceeded expectations. And everyone is already thinking about next year's edition, in which there will also be a reunion with international experts", Medina overtakes.

Nokia presented several of the latest projects of its Bell Labs Spain: Amethyst (immersive video therapy for seniors over 5G), Disadis (public safety with image analysis by artificial intelligence on 5G), 5GRecords (volumetric video over 5G networks for events) and the Ingenious project (remote driving of an automatic guided vehicle with immersive cockpit and real-time video over 5G).
