Audinate acquires Silex Insight's video business

With the purchase of the video area of ​​the Belgian company Silex Insight, Audinate reinforces its position in the audiovisual ecosystem.

The acquisition covers a wide range of AV-over-IP products, including cores IP on the plate Viper, as well as three Silex implementations of video codecs: humming-bird, JPEG 2000 y VC-2 HQ. Audinate, which will integrate a team of eight engineers with extensive experience in video implementation, remains committed to supporting current Silex products and customers.

The proposed transaction is a spin-off of Silex's video business, that will retain its current security activity, and is expected to complete 31 January 2022.

With this acquisition, Audinate seeks to “accelerate its strategic vision” of audio and video integration over IP. In the same way, The company seeks to “add breadth and depth” to its AV over IP product line. Finally, The transaction will increase FPGA expertise within the company and consolidate its video engineering team in Europe.
