Vienna State Opera invests in Robe Led Forte HCF moving lights
With high Cri Led engine option, the Vienna State Opera (Austria) has invested in new Led Forte HCF moving lights and FollowSpots from Robe, using the manufacturer's TE transferable motor technology.
With an intense works program, the Vienna State Opera, also home to the Austrian State Ballet, with capacity for 1.709 personas, ha replaced your old generic devices manual focus FOH tungsten, with more powerful and sustainable luminaires from Robe, supplied by Signal, your distributor in Austria, in addition to improving their traditional followSpots.
Specifically, Ten luminaires have been purchased Led Forte HCF and four FollowSpots HCF of Robe “that work together with a control system RoboSpot personalized”, as pointed out Robert Eisenstein, deputy head of lighting at the Vienna State Opera.
These luminaires integrate the technology of transferable motor TE from the Czech manufacturer, a powerful lighting solution, intelligent and ecological that allows the use of different high-power motors, high CRI, etc. on the same devices, which can be easily changed in about five minutes.
With a distance of projection of 50 metros to the stage from the FOH positions, Eisenstein, explains that they needed more powerful and quieter lights, since they have to be installed in a partially enclosed area and the noise escapes and reverberates throughout the premises.
The options they had tried were too great, noisy or underpowered, until they discovered the Forte luminaires, which Robe introduced earlier this year, along with the FollowSpot version, with the advantage of using the same luminaire with the same quality of light.
The Led Forte HCF engine version was necessary to achieve perfect skin tones, thanks to the optimal color reproduction and the adjustable white range it offers.
The tracking spot rooms of the Vienna State Opera are located in the upper gallery, in the middle of the FOH lighting positions, which were already very limited in terms of space, so it was essential to have a small light fixture.
Besides, They wanted the 'human touch'’ of the operator instead of a tracking system, so the FollowSpots are equipped with handles from the kit LightMaster of Dress, so that it is possible to control the size and intensity of the devices manually, while the other parameters are run through the main lighting console ETC GIO.
Custom software allows output from built-in FollowSpot cameras to appear on monitor screens attached to the wall of the system box, along with some of the features of the RoboSpot system, allowing you to simultaneously see the stage in a classic style.
It is also possible to activate or deactivate the crosshair marker through the LightMaster buttons, as well as zoom the camera in or out. “Robe was flexible and willing to have us work with their RoboSpot software to get the precise solution we needed”, remember Robert Eisenstein.
