The company that produces creative experiences and services Nightscape has launched its Nashville-based entertainment center, an environment that seeks to redefine the way people interact with physical spaces.
With three media servers disguise vx 2 and four nodes rx II rendering, enabling real-time immersive video rendering and 360˚ projection mapping, Nightscape changes the perception of what is physically and digitally possible for all visitors who enter your center.
The new location uses graphics Unreal Engine rendered in real time and powered by disguise to transform the old space of 12th & Porter of Nashville in a state-of-the-art entertainment center.
“for us, Projection mapped spaces are not limited to what's on the walls. It's about what that environment creates for people's experience within the walls.. We are pioneers in this approach, which would not be possible without Unreal Engine and, of course, disguise”, comment Mike Weinberg, director general de Nightscape.
The main room of the enclosure is wrapped in 360 degrees of content projected with Unreal Engine, powered by three disguise vx media servers 2 and four rx II render nodes. For visualization, we have used 21 projectors Epson.
The signs of Spatial (a real-time audio rendering solution), 34 speakers d&b and corresponding custom aroma diffusers add additional layers of realism. All this to reinforce the narrative where the guests have entered the venue at some time., different place in the world.
“Disguise was absolutely crucial to the success of our project as a turnkey solution to take our complex real-time visuals and project them into space.”, explains Kevin Longwell, Vice President of Nightscape,
To achieve a space and a calendar of events in constant evolution and diversification, the Nightscape team needs to constantly switch from one concept to another. “Your concept works best when the space is extremely modular, both physically and digitally”, explica Weinberg.
It started with five different concepts that were launched in the 30 days following the opening of the premises: March Madness college basketball viewing parties and the Masters golf game, golf and underwater themed evening events, as well as a one-of-a-kind immersive dining experience called “Taste, A Culinary Series: Italian villa”.
Taste took guests on a two-hour journey through a castle built with Unreal Engine and designed with sophisticated sound and visual movements.
The venue's ability to showcase diverse capabilities custom designed for each event has convinced clients to hire Nightscape for a series of new activations and installations outside the venue., bringing turnkey experiences to the road. In fact, the company's creative services arm has been using disguise to produce events and activations across the country, at events like SXSW and Coachella.
