The Spira cultural center has the first L-ISA facility in Sweden

Since its inauguration in 2011, These facilities have opted for L-Acoustics for their sound infrastructure and have been updating it to a progressive and immersive L-ISA system.

Located on the shores of Lake Munksjön, in the south of Sweden, is found the House of culture (The Culture House) Spira. A seven-story-tall glass and wood architectural masterpiece, offering music programs, theater and dance on its four stages. Focused on being at the forefront of technology, the venue has always installed audio systems L-Acoustics since its beginnings, so when a new investment opportunity arose, the sound team took advantage and adopted L-ONE. After upgrading the sound system at the Spira concert hall two years ago with an L-Acoustics Kara II system, They decided to focus on theater, who has built his reputation with musical productions and increasingly complex productions.

The integrator JLE Audio AB chose to transform the current configuration of L-Acoustics Kiva in a progressive and immersive L-ISA system.

“Spira now has 11 years and is well established, which allows us to allocate a considerable budget to improve the theater's sound system.", explains the sound director Jack Strandberg. “By having L-Acoustics in all the venue stages, I have absolute confidence in their products. However, L-ISA is not just a system, It's a completely new mentality.".

The venue has collaborated with JLE Audio since 2011, involving the company in previous updates, including the significant transformation of the theater's original Kiva system from a simple seven-cabinet stereo system to a more complete LCR one. The latest evolution of the system has involved the installation of the L-ISA technology suite powered by the L-ISA Processor II, including L-ISA driver software.

“I believe that L-ISA is the most revolutionary technology that has come to the audio industry after many years. The possibilities are unlimited. It's like they gave me a new toolbox: “I can take a sound and put it in the auditorium wherever I want.”, clarifies Strandberg.

As part of the investment, The integration of immersive technology in the studio continued, using the room as a pre-production space with L-ISA Studio software , which has five X8 as scene system, six 5XT as engaging, and a Syva Sub floor mounted, which reflects the configuration of the auditorium and allows staff and visiting engineers to familiarize themselves with the system.

“The additional studio facility is a great initiative to introduce visiting engineers to the system and a place for sound engineers to practice and perfect their mixes before moving on to the main theater.”. The venue also invested in a real-time tracking and automation stage system BlackTrax and a camera-based 2D and 6D tracking system, fully integrated with L-ISA controller, providing extensive, automatic tracking of actors on stage, with the help of acoustics and modeling technology Room Engine from L-ISA.
