Audiologic Tetrastar Spaceport

The association of Audiologic y ABC OFF has resulted in the launch of 'Tetrastar Spaceport', that combines immersive theater, projection mapping, spatial audio and interactive content in the National Space Center in the United Kingdom to simulate a rescue mission to Mars.

Tetrastar Spaceport, a new permanent attraction located in the National Space Center and Leicester (United Kingdom), offers an immersive space-themed experience where guests accidentally find themselves on a rescue mission to Mars. The team must work together to recover important investigations, Survive the disaster and escape back to Earth.

Audiologic Tetrastar SpaceportTo offer maximum realism to visitors, Tetrastar Spaceport combina immersive theater, projection mapping, spatial audio, interactive content in real time, actors and scenery, movable seats and more to simulate this rescue mission to Mars, in which they can participate in an escape room-style experience in which they must recover valuable specimens.

This experience, that occupies 300 m2, develops in four main zones, con ten thematic spaces additional, accessed by groups of twenty people in each one. The design of this attraction has been carried out by NSC Creative, the National Space Center's in-house immersive production team, in collaboration with experts such as ABC OFF y Audiologic, inter alia.

Audiologic Tetrastar SpaceportPaul Mowbray, project manager at NSC Creative, remember that “by selecting the best people in their fields we managed to assemble an experienced team of specialists who worked together with the aim of surprising visitors, transport them to Mars and return after experiencing a wild space mission”.

NSC Creative is responsible for overall project management and creative direction, as well as the Immersive AV integration and the production of this interactive space adventure, the content and implementation. So that visitors feel part of this mission, the company has had well-known artists and personalities, as well as the artificial intelligence called ADA.

How do you explain Anna Shahin, Application Support Engineer at Audiologic, “It has been a very exciting project.”, in which we have worked with ABC AV and NSC Creative. The system required the speakers to blend with the attraction's futuristic aesthetic, so the manufacturer ecosystem K-array “It was an obvious choice.”.

The system is completed with subwoofers Cobra KK52 , KK102 y Rumble KU210 to create a system surround sound 7.2 in the room of the spaceship Tharis One, while the models Vyver KV52 and Rumble KU26 provide a sound experience 5.1 in the area called Transporter. Los Speakers KF26 Lord are responsible for delivering clear, full-range audio to attendees competing in the rescue mission.

The National Space Center has a system Q-SYS Core 510i, “that runs the rest of the equipment and that, thanks to its open architecture, made this the best option to run Tetrastar Spaceport. Due to numerous custom audio requirements, A media unit and an upgrade to the multitrack player were also added to the processor as part of the new system., Puntualize.

In this project, ABC AV has been in charge of the design of the AV systems, lighting and show control, as well as the integration of multimedia experience, as its executive director explains, Andy Bates.

“Working with Simon, Anna, Diogo and the rest of the Audiologic engineers made a lot of sense, as they knew all the product offerings in the K-array ranges, Innosonix and Q-SYS - says Bates- and achieved the right combination of products and features required, while staying within the project budget. Besides, Simple integration of processor control Q-SYS Core con Medialon Show Controller “It was an easy task.”.

For Bates, Tetrastar Spaceport “It's like a mini science center packaged in an exhibit. The complexity of the show control and the installed AV system guarantees that each mission is carried out successfully, even if participants do not always achieve their goals. Each action triggers a response and feeds into a scoring system, which grants a unique result and a prize at the end of each mission to encourage them to return”.

This attraction also has 47 digital screens, 11 laser projectors, 45 speakers and 50 media servers, as well as 15k mapped RGBW Led pixels that are integrated into the entire set.

Added to this are twenty seats with 360º dynamic movement and interactive buttons, that synchronize in real time with the content to give visitors a feeling of weightlessness, supplied by Simworx, along with a API Control Master also developed by this company, enabling NSC Creative to produce a real-time interactive launch experience app with dynamic motion.

He has also participated in the project 2BHeard Limited, who made the initial designs of the room with the modeling software 3D K-framework; proof of concept and implementation of the simulation system.
