Powersoft's sound platform sets the scene for the Fig at Malcha restaurant
This new and modern café-bakery in Delhi (India) uses the flexible Mezzo amplification platform 604 of Powersoft to cover its eight audio zones with only two devices.
Mezzo, the small and powerful mid-size installation amplifier from Powersoft, is the basis of the multi-zone background music system installed in Fig at Malcha, a new high-end dining experience located very close to Chanakyapuri, the historic diplomatic quarter of new delhi, that combines Japanese design with the Nordic lifestyle with a careful menu of seasonal products.
This is the second Fig establishment in the Indian capital, in which they also wanted to put emphasis on the sound they offer to their clients, for which they have had the help of the integrator BBW Distributors.
How do you explain Gunbir Sing, founder and co-owner of this company, “those responsible for Fig wanted a warm and comforting sound, more hi-fi than professional, that would aesthetically complement the lighting systems, “air conditioning and ventilation to offer customers a pleasant listening experience in the space”.
With extensive experience in the restaurant sector, BBW Distributors planned with the Fig at Malcha team “a multi-zone audio system in all public areas, since they wanted the visibility of the equipment to be minimal”, adds sing.
The solution to achieve this is based on a Powersoft system of Dynamic Music Distribution (DMD), composed of two Mezzo amplifiers coupled to a panel de control WM Touch, that offers the same reliability, quality and acoustics than the largest amplifier platforms from this manufacturer, but adapted to medium-sized installations with a compact system.
Using DMD, that takes advantage of the dynamic routing capabilities embedded in Powersoft amplifiers, users can manage up to four independent zones using a single four-channel Mezzo amplifier. A Fig at Malcha, las six audio zones are controlled by a single pantalla Powersoft WM Touch de 4,3” wall mounted, that offers “an incredible level of comfort and ease of use”, said Singh.
For installation, they are combined two Mezzo amplification platforms 604 A offering advanced DSP functionalities, remote control and monitoring, con doce altavoces Amphion Argon and two Apart Kubo 3T, as well as a servidor Roon Silent Angel Rhein Z1 V2, and DAC Matrix Audio X-Sabre 3, speaker cables Gladen Audio e Furutech interconnects.
Although the Mezzo system 604 A also incorporates a state-of-the-art integrated DSP, BBW designed the system based on the physical attributes of the space, choosing to apply an acoustic treatment to the ceiling instead of relying solely on signal processing, while using a roon server, which uses machine learning to automatically play music based on the restaurant's preferences, It is a first in the region.
On both floors of Fig at Malcha, BBW divided the Powersoft amplifiers into four zones in each, with a total of eight audio zones: six dedicated to the ten Amphion speakers installed in public areas, one for the toilets and common space, and another for future expansions.
Compact and easy to assemble, Powersoft Mezzo amplifiers have been installed out of sight of users, as those responsible wanted, in a rack located on the ground floor of the restaurant, while the discreet Amphion speakers blend into the environment without being barely noticeable.
The local Powersoft team, represented by your distributor Acoustic Arts, provided assistance during the installation phase.
Manish Yadav, founder of Fig restaurants (in the image above), states that the new sound system “has completely exceeded our expectations. Its quality is fantastic and it is very easy to use; We have never had to call them for anything important., since it seems to work on autopilot”.
Regarding the multi-zone DMD system, Yadav emphasizes that “restaurant staff now have the ability to control zone levels individually.”, so if they have to reduce or increase the sound for a particular area, “They do it with a couple of taps on a touch screen”.
