Clear-Com communicates the new spaces of the Jacob K Center. New York Javits
The Eclipse Digital Matrix intercom system from Clear-Com, deployed in the expansion of this multifunctional space, Adds IP flexibility to facilitate communication between audiovisual equipment.
Located on the bustling west side of New York City, he Jacob K Convention Center. Javits hosts thousands of events a year, from trade shows to product launches and movie premieres. A varied activity that takes place in an extensive complex of open exhibition spaces, meeting rooms, salons, etc. which can create a complicated communications environment.
To solve it and after carrying out an ambitious expansion of more than 18.000 m2 dedicated to meeting rooms and functional areas, including a space for special events of about 5.000 m2 and a logistics unloading facility, systems have been chosen Clear-Com intercom to streamline communications between center staff.
Metinteractive, strategic architecture solutions provider, communications and technology, has been a member of the design and construction team, as well as the audiovisual integrator of the expansion of this New York convention center.
Javits' new special event space is designed for a cflexible configuration that adapts to the needs of any client, distributed over two floors (4ª and 5ª) of meeting rooms; the first formed by a set of five spaces that can be subdivided up to twenty-one separate meeting rooms, and the fifth floor, Composed of five rooms that can be combined to create a large one for events.
The expansion carried out at the Jacob K Convention Center. Javits also extends to the spaces located on the roof, including an outdoor terrace and glass pavilion.
To facilitate communication between the new audiovisual equipment rooms, Metinteractive has installed a digital matrix intercom system Clear-Com Eclipse HX, with user stations with V-Series keyboard 32, configured as twelve connected positions.
The Eclipse system deployed at Javits includes a IPA card, allowing for easier setups with compatible Clear-Com devices, such as keyboards or transceivers.
“Clear-Com offers a wide range of network-ready solutions,” says Rachel Mele, president of Metinteractive-. Everything they make can easily be connected to an Ethernet network, and the Eclipse system fits perfectly into that equation. Its flexibility worked perfectly for a project of this magnitude., with so many moving parts”.
Building on Metinteractive's previous experience with Clear-Com systems, the team felt comfortable relying on the Eclipse system to perform any functions needed for this project. Although the Javits Center may be prepared for the immediate future in terms of space and infrastructure, the integrator trusts the scalability of these systems if future expansions are needed.
This is what Mele emphasizes: “with IP-based systems like these, there are no limits. Future integrations with other Clear-Com solutions, as FreeSpeak Edge, LQ, HelixNet Digital Partyline, Arcadia and even other brands are possible”.
