SNA Displays at Lamar University

The new scoreboard at Provost Umphrey Stadium will be designed with an outdoor Led Empire screen of SNA Displays. With a resolution of 1,920×1.080 will process more than 2 million pixels.

SNA Displays has secured a contract to update the video scoreboard of the estadio Provost Umphrey of the Lamar University, educational center located east of Houston. The place is the home of the NCAA football team Lamar Cardinals and has the capacity to 16.000 spectators.

Anthony James Partners (AJP) has provided support to Lamar in selecting SNA Displays to manufacture and supply the new video card, using its technology Led Empire panel outdoor with a pixel pitch of 10 mm.

The new scoreboard will feature a much larger video screen, of 19 meters wide by 10,6 high, almost double the size of the existing board. With a resolution of 1,920×1.080 pixels, the digital display will process more than 2 million pixels.

The new video board will house a new point source audio system designed by AJP that will create a noticeable difference for fans. The structure will house long-range synergy horn speakers Danley Sound Labs complemented by dual subwoofers 18 inches, powered by Danley DNA 20K4 Pro amplifiers.

Additional elements to the structure include an interlocking LU logo of 2 meters high on the side facing the field and a illuminated Lamar University athletics logo 11 meters wide that faces the street.

“By removing static display elements and enlarging the digital canvas with an even tighter pixel size, “Lamar will improve the visual capabilities of its video board and the overall game experience.”, said Also Fax, director of sports and live events at SNA Displays.
