Wachfire and Eastlink Center

The new four-sided central screen Watchfire Centerhung gives fans in the arena of this Canadian stadium a view of 360 score grades, game and promotional content.

In it Easlink Center a renovation of the facilities has been carried out, and the arena scoreboard has been modernized with the installation of a four-sided indoor screen Watchfire Centerhung of 3,9 mm.

This is a combined hockey/basketball stadium, and a commercial facility. Located in Charlottetown (Prince Edward Island – Canada), was built in 1991 for the Winter Games and is home to the Charlottetown Islanders of the QMJHL and Charlottetown Power of the ECBL. Besides, Hosts concerts and other live events throughout the year.

The facility has undergone a renovation that includes new lighting and sound systems. The old fixed-digit scoreboard has also been replaced with the first digital scoreboard hanging in the center of the island, for which Watchfire's Centerhung technology has been used.

Watchfire's new four-sided center display gives fans in the arena 3.645 seats a view of 360 Live score and game ratings, providing videos with the repetitions, in addition to showing different types of content and promotional information.

“The resolution of the scoreboard is so good that it is like watching a giant television. It's opening up new opportunities to host events when the Islanders are on the road.. “It is a blank canvas and we are excited about its possibilities.”, comment John Abbott, general manager of the Eastlink Centre.

Gemini Group of Companies of Charlottetown submitted the bid to design and install the scoreboard and specified Watchfire to manufacture the display, after becoming familiar with the company through his experience as a Yesco distributor.

“Watchfire was a natural fit for the project, and we feel very satisfied with the experience and attention of the team”, explains Mark Fisher, President of Gemini Group of Companies.

New center mounting also makes maintenance and repair easier. Watchfire mounted the new scoreboard using a lifting system, so site operators can easily lower and raise the screen for routine maintenance or repair.
