Robe brings light to the new Leoland multipurpose space in Ukraine
This educational complex, business and leisure, defined as “a small miracle and testimony of the Ukrainian spirit and strength to benefit the community”, It has a 270º projection room illuminated with Robe to celebrate different events.
Located in the Ukrainian town of Lviv, west of the country, Leoland It is a large multipurpose enclosure 300.000 m2 to hold conferences and concerts, do leisure and sports activities and more thanks to the efforts of all those involved to complete this project in such dramatic moments.
The venue has a 270º projection room that has been illuminated with eight systems Long live CMY to cover the stage, along with twenty-six LedWash 600+ and eight ParFect 150 installed around the ceiling, from the Czech manufacturer Robe, supplied Sound House, your distributor in Ukraine.
All lights were chosen for their size, flexibility and power. The height to the ceiling is 5,7 metros, so small devices were also required to fill the space and fit with the spectacular projections, in which Sound House has worked with the video specialist Front Pictures, who supplied a custom projection control system.
The multipurpose room is one of the expansion phases of the current Leoland property, driven by a private investor. Although planning for the venue began at the end of 2020 with the intention of making it a central location for business events and meetings, the technical installation that was to be carried out in March 2022 remained paralizada por la guerra.
Since then, people's immediate needs have changed, Therefore, Leoland's emphasis has also shifted to being more of a social center that can be enjoyed by people of all ages., as well as for those who are dedicated to business.
The need to organize commercial events is starting to grow again in the country and spaces like Leoland are very necessary right now to stimulate different areas of the Ukrainian economy..
“Sound House created a complete package of technical design, with audio, lighting and audiovisuals, for this new multipurpose room and was proposed to the client after receiving his instructions - explains its general director, Andrey Garkavy-. Next, “The contract was obtained to supply and install it in its entirety”.
Among other things, the room had to be able to accommodate anything from a medium-sized plenary session for a conference or product launch to a live show, sitting or standing, with a band, a dance group or other artists.
Flexibility in all elements was key, as well as the quality-price ratio, so the proposed design contained a medium-high level of specification. In Ukraine, The company or team supplying the winning design usually has the opportunity to provide the elements, Therefore, many of the sales and distribution companies also have a projects division..
“We try to put ourselves in the customer's shoes when creating a specification,” Garkaviy emphasizes.. I completely believe in Robe as a group of individuals and as a brand; They are truly innovative and consistent in all their product ranges., and understand the need to build a robust and high quality multi-use kit, “May it last a long time and do several things very well”.
After suspend the project due to the war, Those responsible recently decided to reactivate it. “We take it easy, taking into account everything that is happening -remember-. Those who stayed at Sound House, several team and staff members have enlisted in the ZSU (Ukrainian Armed Forces), while others have found work abroad. They were committed so that the project could continue, can you imagine it!”.
However, This wasn't the biggest challenge for Sound House at the time either., since two weeks after the start of the war, two cruise missiles crashed into its warehouse in Dnipro, completely destroying the building and everything in it, including Robe ParFects and Viva CMY, as well as numerous audio and video equipment that they had prepared for installation.
Luckily, go LedWash 600+ they had not yet arrived and, when the invasion began, Andrey asked the Robe factory to leave the rest of the equipment safe in the Czech Republic. When the project was recently resumed, systems that had been destroyed in the missile attack were recommissioned.
The war economy also brings many more logistical nightmares: increase in time, the cost of equipment and road transport, staff shortage and the fact that everything takes longer to set up on site amidst constant power and network outages. But everyone was determined.
Installation work They were completed at the end of last September and the new room has already hosted its first events. The Sound House team has already deployed additional cabling and control infrastructure to expand all lighting systems., sound and multimedia- in the future, which will include more moving head luminaires.
