Smart technological operating rooms to improve the hospital environment
Ditec Medical, division specialized in AV engineering for the group's health sector Ditec, analyzes how smart operating rooms are transforming healthcare and benefiting patients and professionals thanks to technology.
In the search for improve the quality of medical care, technology plays a fundamental role. In this context, los smart operating rooms have become a crucial innovation in the field of health, that not only allow surgeons to perform procedures with greater precision, but also contribute significantly to the improvement of the hospital environment as a whole..
Smart operating rooms are highly technological and automated surgery spaces, designed to improve the efficiency and safety of surgical procedures. For this, equip state-of-the-art systems and devices, like touch screens, navigation systems, high resolution monitors and robotic tools.
Benefits for patients:
Greater precision: Smart operating rooms allow surgeons to perform procedures with millimeter precision.
Better diagnosis: Thanks to the technology deployed in smart operating rooms, less invasive processes are carried out, in addition to remote assistance from expert hands or a second opinion.
Benefits for health professionals:
Greater efficiency: smart operating rooms simplify surgical processes, saving staff time and reducing fatigue during long surgeries.
Facilitates training: These advanced workspaces enable real-time recording and streaming of live surgeries, which improves the training and learning of professionals.
Improved decision making: smart operating rooms provide real-time information, helping surgeons make more informed decisions during surgery, as well as obtain a second opinion from other experts who may be present or remote.
Impact on the hospital environment
The introduction of smart operating rooms not only benefits patients and health professionals, but it has a positive impact on the hospital environment as a whole, as in these key aspects.
Resource optimization: The efficiency of smart operating rooms allows hospitals to perform more procedures in less time, which optimizes the use of your resources.
Improves hospital visibility: the adoption of advanced technologies, as happens with smart operating rooms, improves the visibility of the hospital and makes it a reference for professionals in the sector.
Long-term cost reduction: Smart operating rooms improve quality of care and productivity, in addition to providing a solution adapted to new long-payback technologies.
"In Ditec Medical We understand the importance of technology in patient care and are committed to helping hospitals implement cutting-edge smart operating room solutions.. Our experience in this environment allows us to be a reliable partner in this transition towards a more efficient and safe surgical environment”.
This division specialized in AV engineering for the health sector of Ditec offers expert advice to help hospitals identify smart OR solutions that best suit their needs and budget.
It is also specialized in complex systems integration, for which they work in collaboration with the main medical technology providers to ensure that all smart operating room equipment interoperates fluidly and efficiently.
Another of Ditec Medical's contributions is to offer training programs for healthcare personnel, in order to take full advantage of the benefits that this technology brings, as well as provide continuous support to ensure the uninterrupted operation of smart operating rooms.
They are update and maintenance with the latest technological innovations on the market is another key element in the proposal of this division of Ditec. “We are committed to contributing to the advancement of medical care through the implementation of smart operating rooms, helping centers make the most of this technology, improving the quality of care, operational efficiency and patient satisfaction”.
Live surgery in a hybrid intervention room
On the occasion of the Expert day – Chip Procedure, in which hemodynamicists J.A.. Gomez Hospital y. L.M. Teruel Gila, of the Bellvitge University Hospital from Barcelona, shared knowledge and advances within interventional medicine.
Ditec Medical carried out the AV project for live broadcast of surgeries via video conference, from this medical center to the facilities of Boston Scientific, located in Madrid.
A pioneering project that stands out for the recording content and routing audio and video signals from all equipment in the intervention room, digitized with ORisTIC Hybrid, in the Hemodynamics Area of the Bellvitge University Hospital.
Besides, Communication was enabled between the intervention and control rooms for efficient management of all audio and video signals coming from the different devices installed in the first room..
Modules included in the project
- Routing of audio and video signals for videoconference transmission of live surgery content, in high quality, to the Boston Scientific facilities in Madrid.
- Communicators for the intervention and control room, to ensure fluid communication between hemodynamicists and technicians, with effective coordination during procedures.
- Video conference high quality to maintain fluid two-way communication between the Bellvitge University Hospital healthcare team and the public, located in the Boston Scientific auditorium.
- Content recording in high definition, allowing for subsequent analysis and review and a valuable resource for training and research.
Training room
Ditec Medical also equipped the training room with a 4K interactive monitor and professional speaker and microphone systems to view live surgeries., without latency and with optimal quality, with two-way communication in real time with the interventional room.
This technological advance enhances the training of future surgeons and professionals, shortening distances with the convergence of multiple spaces regardless of their location.
This success story is part of the Technological tour that are organized during WHEREAS 2024, in which a small group of guests, prior registration, will have the unique opportunity to enter this digitalized operating room at the Bellvitge University Hospital (Thursday, 1 February 2024) to see its inner workings and learn how ORisTIC audiovisual technology can help improve and save lives.
