RCF and LAV Project merge design and technology at the Hard Rock Café Dubrovnik

The Hard Rock Cafe Dubrovnik is located in the heart of the old town, in the old Monastery of Las Claras, which has been transformed into a space that extends over 850 square meters and has capacity for more than 400 guests, including the interior cafeteria area and the Rock shop, a patio with terrace and an outdoor area overlooking the famous Great Fountain of Onofrio.
The interior is decorated with classic rock memorabilia, like guitars, costumes and photographs of famous musicians, creating an atmosphere that transports to the world of rock and roll.
LAV Project has been the company in charge of providing the audio and video equipment of this establishment. “So that all AV solutions would comply with the strict rules of the Hard Rock license, The process required careful planning, preparation and analysis of every detail. For a start, We research and analyze the requirements of the Hard Rock brand related to equipping the cafeteria with audiovisual equipment, which helped us understand the details of the equipment needed to meet the standards. In the project planning, the space has been divided, which covers more than 850 square meters, in a total of eight interconnected areas in which the equipment has been installed.
The client's main request was good sound coverage of the entire space, and to achieve this, a combination of RCF speakers have been installed. For the interior space, they have been used 23 altavoces Compact M06 with rotating supports that have been mounted on metal profiles. This model has been used in almost all areas of space (coffee shop and rock shop), and is mainly used to play background music.
The Hard Rock Cafe Dubrovnik is decorated with an atrium for which waterproof speakers have been delivered and installed RCF P 3108 for outdoor use. Since many musical events will be held at this location, features two mobile audio systems for live concerts.
For the smaller indoor stage, series of speakers have been used RCF TT+, two TT 515-A active sound boxes, in combination with two TT 808-AS active subwoofers . On the biggest outside stage, Two TT 22-A II high-performance two-way active sound boxes with TT 18-A II subwoofers have been mounted . In the cafeteria bathroom they have installed PL 8XB ceiling speakers.
In order to inform guests via public address system and for other applications, wireless microphone is available Audix AP62 OM5, consisting of an Audix R62 two-channel receiver and two OM5 portable dynamic handheld microphones.
All zones are interconnected by audio lines that pass through the modular processor Xilica Solaro FR1. This processor allows cafeteria staff to redirect multiple sound sources to multiple zones.
Display equipment
In addition to the audio system, LAV Project has also provided a video system, which is composed of six professional 4K Ultra HD displays Sony Bravia FW-55BZ40H/1, that have been mounted on supports Edbak TWB1.
These can transfer official Hard Rock video materials from the server. In the atrium there is also a Sony VPL-PHZ61 projector which has been installed in a case for outdoor use along with a screen for material display.
For the transmission of live events, a Sony SRG-300H Full HD PTZ camera with remote control, allowing recording of various positions, like events on a small indoor stage, and playing that material live on an external Bravia projection screen.
To make this reproduction possible and of high quality with the lowest possible latency, Aten VM1600A modular matrix switcher has been implemented in combination with HDMI input modules Aten VM7814 y salida HDBaseT Aten VM8514 , allowing further signal distribution via HDMI.
In order to be able to view this signal in 4K format, the VM1600A with Aten VE816R extenders , obtaining the possibility of sending 4K video signals up to 100 meters away; that is to say, coverage of almost the entire building.
Full control of the audio and video systems is provided by the Central Aten VK2, the second generation of the Aten Control Box, which is the highest performance processor in the series.
The easy operation of this processor is provided by the Aten VK330 touch panel of 10 inches (Touch Panel), which comes with the Aten Control System application pre-installed, Designed for integrated use with the Aten central control system. with them, the customer has the option to select and control all audio and video inputs/outputs within all areas of the Hard Rock Café.
To respond to the stability requirements of the system's electrical network, an uninterruptible power supply has been installed Aten OL3000HV , and this professional UPS provides emergency power when the main input power supply fails.
The power supply is combined with power panels Aten PE8208 and PE8216G power supply providing multiple remote outlet control and management options (according to individuals or groups of plugs), allowing you to control and monitor the power supply status of all devices in the system.
