L’Abarset is located in the mountainous Principality of Andorra, serving clients who visit the Grandvalira ski resort., the largest in the Pyrenees, and is famous for its gastronomy and its great festivals. With a very dense program of activities with DJs and live music every night, during the ski season, L’Abarset needed to find the balance between the fame of its leisure activities and its environmental responsibility.

The management wanted a system that would not detract from the fame of the establishment.. “From the concept phase of the project, We knew that sound quality was the main focus and that everything was going to revolve around it”, explains Alex Orúe, Director of Hospitality and Corporate Business at Grandvalira-Ensisa.

The challenge went to Onlivelighting, a technical production company based in Ibiza and under the command of Toni Prats and Toni Torres. “We choose d&b because he is compatible with riders and knows what DJs usually require. We wanted the speakers to be integrated into a unique architecture and, for it, we use a distributed sound system for uniform coverage, in a way that had less visual impact”, explains Toni Prats, technical director of Onlivelighting.

At the same time, They had to take into account how the sound was going to spread outside the venue and beyond the participants in the parties.. “We had to pay special attention to any possible impact on the natural environment. The answer was the software's feature set d&b NoizCalc, with which we could guarantee that noise pollution or environmental noise would be minimal”, Prats clarifies.

Toni Torres, technical director of Onlivelighting, duck: “The analysis carried out by NoizCalc includes all the areas adjacent to that space, close to residential areas and where there are also hotels. It showed us that the biggest problem we had was in the furthest area towards the other side of the valley”.

Insights from NoizCalc data allowed the Onlivelighting team to optimize the system. "It led us to add point sources in order to reduce the pressure of the main system while achieving the same pressure in the listening area", Torres says..

Sound reinforcement was needed both inside the premises, in the restaurant area, as it were, on the terrace, where they gather to enjoy the performances. Equipment has been installed inside 8S point source y 18S compact subwoofers, all of d&b.
