The Bridgestone arena continues to expand its DiGiCo infrastructure
The new Quantum 338 of DiGiCo It joins two existing and updated SD12-96 consoles, together with an SD-Rack, an SD-MiNi Rack, a D-Rack and three SD-Nano Racks that were already in the Bridgestone arena in Nashville.
He arena Bridgestone de Nashville, the home of the NHL's Predators, has expanded its AV infrastructure with the addition of a new console Quantum338, which already has two consoles SD12, one by Orange Boxes and seis Rack. All of them from DiGiCo.
The Quantum338 joins two existing and updated DiGiCo SD12-96 consoles, together with an SD-Rack, SD-MiNi Rack, D-Rack y tres SD-Nano Racks. This assumes the main functions in the enclosure, while one SD12 acts as a router/hub/mixer for the broadcast control room and the other as an auxiliary mixer, paired with the D-Rack and deployed as needed throughout the arena, including monitor mixing on the band/stage deck.
Two MADI Orange Box interfaces are also integrated into this active loop Optocore along with consoles and racks.
"From 2018 we have DiGiCo consoles. They have become a standard for concerts around the world and Nashville is the music city par excellence”, states Jacob Lutz, Director of Technical Operations for Bridgestone Arena and the Nashville Predators. “Quantum338 is a game changer for live music. And the SD12 consoles, we update to 96 tickets last year, have proven to be excellent for broadcast applications. Since they are all on the same fiber optic loop, “They offer us a high level of redundancy and unmatched connectivity if necessary”.
Sound quality is a key component of Bridgestone arena's appeal for shows and events, being DiGiCo, brand that distributes in Spain RMS Proaudio, a fundamental piece in this infrastructure.
“One Orange Box is in the technical operations center and the other is our link to the transmission truck docks, which allows us to offer OB trucks any output they need at any given time”, continues Lutz. “And when the transmission is analog, as is the case with regional sports networks, The SD-MiNi Rack on our dock offers us extensive connectivity. For larger events, like the NHL draft, we can deliver a MADI stream and they can take any audio source needed from around the house, including the ability to route the intercom through that”.
DiGiCo in the stadium
The new Quantum338 is used in every Predators game. This being the 'music city', halftimes are mini concerts, like other breaks, which in the past have featured performances by artists such as Keith Urban, Vince Gill, Scott Stapp, Riley Green and the Australians The Shepherds, the biggest band to hit the arena stage during hockey games since the acquisition of the Quantum console.
“We have an SD-Rack on the band stage that connects to the optical loop and everything plugs in there, connecting everything back to the front of house, streaming and any others you may need whether it be a mix or individual stems of our performances. Most traveling shows will bring their own FOH consoles, and many, if not most, They turn out to be DiGiCo consoles, but we have had bigger and more varied shows here, plus concerts, and the Quantum338 gives us the capabilities and functionalities we need”, ends Lutz.
