ISE support illustrates how cutting-edge audiovisual technology, united with artistic talent, forms a connection that can produce spectacular immersive experiences, something that was reflected at this year's ISE fair.

The exhibition WHEREAS 2024 had a live performance by Dutch AI/digital artist Jeroen van der Most at the exhibition center Barcelona Fair. This was preceded by a projection mapping collaboration with Argentine digital artist Sofía Crespo on the historic building Casa Batlló. Besides, ISE embarked on a third partnership with the Festival Llum Light Arts from Barcelona to support their initiative throughout the city.

“We are more than proud to be able to once again support the cultural community of Barcelona”, states Mike Blackman, director general de Integrated Systems Europe. “With Lang we found the perfect support to give life to social commitment, political and environmental displayed in Tuan Andrew Nguyen's poetic art projects. For us it is important to demonstrate how audiovisual technology can be used to share visions”.

From 2007, The Joan Miró Foundation awards the Joan Miró Prize every two years. An international jury made up of renowned experts in the field of contemporary art awards the prize to artists who, like Miró, they work in a curious way, innovative, committed and freedom loving. For this year's award, The jury highlighted Nguyen's “extraordinary depth and imagination” as qualities that connect him with Joan Miró, one of the criteria to evaluate the nominees.

The Vietnamese-American artist Tuan Andrew Nguyen has been the winner of the VIII Edition of the Joan Miró Prize. Now, The Joan Miró Foundation presents its first individual exhibition in Spain. Through a selection of video installations and sculptures made from discarded bombs and abandoned projectiles from the Vietnam War, Nguyen reflects on the human and material consequences of the two Vietnam Wars fought by France and the United States.

Curated by Martina Millà, head of exhibitions at the Joan Miró Foundation, the exhibition ‘Mr Andrew Nguyen. Our ghosts live in the future‘ establishes a dialogue between Joan Miró and Alexander Calder, both defenders of Western art from the Cold War era. And this dialogue is expressed through movies, facilities, Nguyen's artwork and objects.

To bring these projects to life, seven have been used 3LCD 8K laser projectors of Panasonic, seven 4K60p players with high dynamic range (HDR10) and various lenses with a range of 0,87 a 2,32.

“The image quality allows for crisp details and a level of clarity and lushness that matches the emotional intensity of the stories being told.”. Only with this type of equipment can visitors see the images as they were taken and designed to be viewed., explains Tuan Andrew Nguyen.

Martina Milla, curator of the exhibition, duck: "This way, the image is displayed correctly as an integral part of the narrative, of the atmosphere of the scenes, so finely crafted in all the films in the exhibition. “Having these projectors and lenses really increases the impact that the stories are trying to convey.”.

The Tuan Andrew Nguyen temporary exhibition. Our ghosts live in the future will be on display until 24 September 2024. The Joan Miró Foundation is located at the foot of Montjuïc, near the National Art Museum of Catalonia.
