Allen & Heath Streamlines Mixing Process with New dLive Firmware 2.0
Allen & Heath has announced the release of dLive firmware 2.0 and the new RackUltraFX card, solutions that bring next-generation effects processing and extensive workflow improvements to the mixing platform.
Among the workflow improvements that the new dLiveh firmware incorporates 2.0 the Allen & Heat, that distributes Audio-Technica, highlights a Cue list system revised that simplifies the creation of cue lists, plus custom MIDI recovery, Designed for highly automated shows and theatrical applications.
The system is also reinforced with the new Actions function, that allows you to activate functions on several channels, such as routing assignments and levels, ABCD inputs, processing and insertion inputs/outputs, and strip layout, with just the press of a programmable SoftKey.
The Channel Library has been expanded to include contributions from Mix, meaning channels can now be saved with all sends, processing and name/color data included.

RackUltra FX Card
On the other hand, the new card RackUltra FX, installed as standard on all MixRacks new and available as an upgrade for existing MixRacks, duck 8 engines RackUltra FX (including dedicated stereo send and return channels plus PEQ and dynamics processing) to any dLive system without consuming inputs, FX buses or slots.
Anthony Evans, director the software the I+D the Allen & Heath provides more details: “The power offered by the RackUltra FX card's combination of a custom FX FPGA core with ARM processing has allowed us to go further with our new algorithms. We can now deploy low-latency built-in effects that were previously unimaginable on a live console., opening dLive to the new generation of onboard processing”.
The RackUltra FX Collection, powered by RackUltra FX card, reúne 10 new algorithms that “rival the most advanced plug-ins on the market”, with the added benefit of seamless, low-latency, license-free integration. In this way, a professional live console can achieve pitch correction, grids o shifter studio-quality without the need for external hardware or third-party software.
Among the improvements included in Allen's system & Heath featured vocal tuner tools, vocal gridder y vocal shifter, in addition to harmonizers Quad Voice Harmoniser, Dual Voice Auto Key Harmoniser or the MID Harmoniser. The system is completed with the two new reverb tools Spaces Reverb Designer and Plate Reverb Designer, as well as the Saturation and Amp+Cab Distortion effects.
