In Basel they deployed 200 Kyalami units, 36 Get paid and 99 Mamba Ayrton. An infrastructure that was completed with 45 Domino LT, 96 Rival Profile and 34 Zonda 9 FX, that brought dynamism, coverage and surround effects throughout the entire show.

The 69th edition of the festival Eurovision held at the St. Jacobshhalle de Basale (Swiss) showed that the show is not only in the music. With a large-scale lighting design and spectacular scenery, This edition has marked a new milestone for the technical and creative live entertainment industry. For the staging, they used 500 Ayrton luminaries, brand that distributes in Spain Stonex.

The lighting design was carried out by Tim Routledge, one of the great international references in scenic design, who opted to integrate (for the first time in the same production) three of the most powerful luminaires in the Ayrton catalog: Kyalami, Cobra and Mamba.

In total, 510 Ayrton luminaires were strategically installed on the stage: 200 Kyalami units, that stood out for their defined effects and their ability to create powerful visual atmospheres; 99 Mamba, whose large beam filled the back of the stage with color and volume; y 36 Cobra, that showed why they are one of the favorite bets in large format shows.

The deployment was completed with 45 Domino LT, 96 Rival Profile y 34 Zonda 9 FX, that brought dynamism, coverage and surround effects throughout the entire show.

A single visual narrative

The technical proposal of this edition was especially innovative. The set designer Florian Wieder, a Eurovision veteran, opted for a self-supporting system (since the roof of the enclosure did not allow loading), creating an illuminated three-dimensional structure and a semi-transparent Led screen that offered depth and scenic play.

One of the most striking elements was the mobile truss structure known as 'ribs’, that accompanied each song with different movements and positions.

Ayrton luminaires, distributed at the base of the stage, about the system motorized truss and around the main screen, were key to achieving that visual versatility without losing clarity or power.

The collaboration between Routledge and Wieder turned each performance into a immersive experience where lighting had as much weight as sound. The result was a show that more than 5,8 millions of people followed live from Spain alone, with a screen quota of 50%.
