Genelec provides a sophisticated audio solution to the new Eidra headquarters

Ximple AB, specialists in corporate technology solutions, was hired to design and implement the audiovisual solutions for the new building of Eidra, including a sophisticated solution altavoces Genelec Smart IP for common and social areas.

Originally from the Nordic countries and based in Stockholm, Eidra is a consulting collective that brings together a group of 17 companies and more 1.200 consultants, creatives and engineers. After significant growth, needed a new headquarters that better reflected its identity and created an inspiring environment for employees and visitors alike.

“We were fortunate to participate in the planning phase and work with the client to create an office that went beyond the ordinary”, explains Andreas Savela, co-founder of Simple.

The objective was to develop technical solutions that improve a modern and dynamic office, prioritizing ease of use. “We also took into account the importance of offering solutions that reflected the client's brand and its cutting-edge culture and sustainability.. For these reasons, We select Genelec Smart IP speakers for all open areas, the halls and the main entrance”, Añade savela.

The challenge for Eidra was to find a product that worked in all types of environments, especially in open areas where acoustics and aesthetics had to harmonize. Audio also needed to be zoned to accommodate different applications in different areas. For example, the entrance does not play the same type of music as the bar, which is different from the cafeteria, the training or meeting room.

“Genelec was the logical choice for us, and in particular the Smart IP series with PoE power”, says Savela. “In addition to its long lifespan and high-quality audio, the possibility of supplying power, sound and control through a single network cable simplifies installation. Smart IP also adapts to Eidra's sustainability goals thanks to its environmentally friendly construction process, its long useful life and its significantly reduced energy consumption”.

Silly installed a total of 51 speakers Genelec 4430 Smart IP in 15 zones. “We use the model 4430 everywhere, as it is powerful enough to deliver crystal-clear, high-quality audio even at high sound pressure levels, including special events or evening functions that require a more dynamic touch, but at the same time compact and discreet enough to integrate harmoniously with Eidra's aesthetics.. For even smoother integration, most of the speakers were finished in RAL 7047, an elegant grayish white tone that shows great sobriety”, explains Savela.

Once installed, the Ximple team used the software Smart IP Manager de Genelec to configure the system across the red Dante.

“This saved us time and resources in an accelerated project with many parties involved”, remember Savela. "However, thanks to efficient planning and close collaboration, “Everything was completed without problems and as planned”.

Genelec's Smart IP Manager allows you to configure an almost unlimited number of rooms, zones, speakers and audio channels, and includes device detection, room equalization, system organization and status monitoring. Once each space has been defined and each speaker has been optimized for it, A public API command set allows you to integrate Smart IP speakers with third-party control systems, which is exactly what Ximple did for Eidra.

Ximple selected a control system Q-SYS with a simple user interface that can be controlled from an iPad or similar, and allows Eidra staff to manage level control and source selection in any zone with the push of a button.

“An interesting detail is that, at the end of the work day, all presets return to their default settings. This means that, when the staff returns in the morning, the music plays at the correct volume, regardless of how it was left the night before”, Añade savela.
