Infiled in Dubai Fountain

Considered the longest temporary outdoor Led screen in the Middle East, This curved installation has been made with more than 1.254 square meters of MV series Led panels INFiLED with a distance between pixels of 3,9 mm.

With the iconic Burj Khalifa as a backdrop, the seafront promenade Dubai Fountain It is an experience for any tourist who visits the city of the United Arab Emirates. When it was decided to renew the fountain, the promoter Emaar sought to ensure that the atmosphere of the area remained intact during the six months of construction. In collaboration with the systems integrator Blue Rhine Industries, INFiLED was tasked with providing a high-impact solution.

With one of the most ambitious audiovisual facilities in the region, INFiLED has transformed the iconic Dubai Fountain promenade into a stunning digital experience. With a length of 440 meters and a height of three meters, This Led installation is the world's longest temporary digital display.

“This is probably the most interesting project we have done in a long time”, states John Joseph, director de Blue Rhine Industries. “A digital billboard almost half a kilometer long is not something you hear about every day”.

The installation includes more than 1.254 square meters of Led panels MV series of INFiLED with a pixel pitch of 3,9 mm, that have more than 80 million pixels.

Designed specifically for the demanding climate of the Middle East, The MV series has IP65 rating, requires no fan and is optimized for low power consumption in high temperature and high humidity environments.

“The MV series is a robust and future-proof platform”, states Samer Otaibi, INFiLED Vice President of Sales for the Middle East. We have already installed more than 15.000 square meters of the MV series throughout the region in recent 4/5 years. For this project, we use our second generation model, which eliminates the need for active cooling, which represents a significant advance in terms of sustainability and energy consumption during the useful life of the installation”.

What started as a hoarding functional has become an iconic digital installation. The idea of going digital arose in the last planning stages, when Emaar recognized the potential to transform a barrier into a immersive attraction.

From contract award to project completion, Blue Rhine Industries had only 60 days, of which only half on site, to deliver the comprehensive turnkey solution, including structural foundation, reproduction systems, the electrical infrastructure and the screen itself.

INFiLED's role in launching this accelerated project was crucial. “Given the tight deadline, “The production line at our headquarters in China prioritized the order.”, explained Otaibi. “We are working at full capacity to deliver the panels in three weeks. Shipments were made in batches to maintain the pace of installation: as soon as a lot was installed, the next one arrived”.

More than a thousand square meters of INFiLED panels were transported from Shenzhen directly to Dubai, allowing installation teams to meet deadlines despite logistical challenges and extreme summer heat in the region. Curved screen design, which includes concave and convex sections, required precision engineering.

To ensure perfect alignment, the civil construction division of Blue Rhine Industries installed 494 custom-made concrete foundation blocks with subcentimeter precision. These two-ton blocks formed the base of the structure, which had to withstand strong winds and remain completely self-supporting.

“They cannot be placed randomly”, Joseph explains.. “Each block had to be placed by crane overnight using a cardboard template system and with a tolerance of 1 cm. Once the blocks are placed, The metal structure followed and, finally, the screen. “It was like putting together a huge puzzle.”.

In addition to structural innovation, The temporary nature of the exhibition demanded a modular and non-invasive installation. each wire, Frame and connection are designed for quick assembly and complete removal once the fountain reopens.

Power is supplied by four on-site generators, while the content is distributed over fiber optic cabling, synchronized through a CMS SpinetiX (more information at DAV) and processing hardware NovaStar.

The playback system includes Intel NUC players 13 Pro, Novastar H15 and CVT10-S converters, y timing generators AJA GEN10 to maintain perfect synchronization throughout the display.

The content, designed and provided by a third party, It is dynamic and will evolve throughout the project. The installation not only preserves the prestige and atmosphere of the Dubai Fountain during the renovation, but also positions digital signage as a key element of destination storytelling.

For INFiLED, This project joins a growing list of high-profile achievements in the Middle East. “We are proud to say that this is the longest Led screen in the region”, says Otaibi. ““It expands our track record of the highest indoor and outdoor resolutions in the GCC.”.

Although the project will only last six months, the panels will be reused in other Emaar properties, which will extend the life of the system and demonstrate the flexibility of INFiLED technology.
