Christie's laser projection brings the 'ghostly attraction to life'’ by Paultons Park

With a new concept of dark ride, The Ghostly Manor attraction has six DWU1100-GS and two DWU1400-GS laser projectors. Christie to bring haunted scenes to life with great precision and brilliance.

Los Christie 1DLP laser projectors are offering immersive images in Ghostly Manor, the new type attraction dark ride of Paultons Park, and Hampshire (United Kingdom).

Designed and installed by Lagotronics Projects, the attraction of 3,5 million pounds, combina physical sets, projection mapping e interactivity to create an exciting ghost-themed adventure. Six Christie DWU1100-GS laser projectors and two DWU1400-GS bring haunted scenes to life with great precision and brilliance.

Ghostly Manor uses a new attraction format, Gameplay Theater, created by Mack Rides y Lagotronics Projects. Vehicles that rotate continuously, with capacity for eight passengers seated back to back, They discover new environments at every turn. Visitors have Phantom Phasers, interactive in-vehicle guns, that allow them to catch ghosts throughout eight scenes.

The format offers a high flow of visitors in a small circular space, optimizing efficiency and reducing queues. The experience concludes with a scoring scene that shows each player's performance along with their photographs.

With vehicles located very close to the screen, the team installed the projectors at a high angle to avoid shadows from the players, while making sure to eliminate distortions and blending artifacts.

Christie provided technical support and ultra short throw lenses 0.37-0.4:1 on each team to achieve the desired result, projecting on surfaces of approximately 10 meters wide by 3,5 meters high.

The attraction was built on the site of a former 4D cinema and the project was completed within the scheduled time of 12 months.
