The Santiago Bernabéu stadium begins mapping tests on its façade
Four UDX 4K40 Flex projectors Barco, configured to cover an approximate area of 78×38 metros, have been used for mapping tests on the façade of this Madrid stadium, with content designed by Audiovisual Fluge at a resolution of about 7,680×3.840p.
The facade of the renovated Santiago Bernabéu stadium, football team headquarters Real Madrid, has become the scene of an important architectural projection technical test, carried out by Audiovisual Fluge, to evaluate your ability to show large-scale nighttime mapping shows.
The technical device deployed has included four UDX 4K40 Flex projectors from the manufacturer Barco, configured to cover an approximate area of 78 meters wide by 38 high, with a total area of almost 3.000 m².
These four DLP projectors 3 laser-phosphor chips, Designed for use in large spaces, offer a 4K UHD resolution and a brightness of 37.500 lumens each to ensure flawless shows with accurate colors.
The Barco UDX 4K40 Flex models incorporate the functionality Constant Light Output (CLO) to provide constant brightness and color over time, with a wide spectrum thanks to the UDX platform.
Los contents that have been shown on the façade of the Bernabéu, around historical images of Real Madrid along with current sequences of the team and its players, have been prepared by the design department of Fluge Audiovisuales to a resolution close to 7,680×3.840 pixels.
The content management is done through multiscreen software Watchout 7 of Dataton, that together with a four-output 4K server allows you to precisely distribute the video signal and perform the geometry settings and warping necessary on the metal façade of the stadium.
The technical test carried out a few days ago has allowed analyze essential parameters, such as coverage and geometric adjustment on the real surface, the uniformity of projection and the chromatic conditions on the metallic stadium finish.
It has also been possible to successfully verify the legibility of large format text and graphics, evaluating how the curvature and horizontal slats of the façade affect the final perception of the spectators who gathered there, who were surprised with the result.
