'El Saliner@', first holographic metahuman in Spain to boost tourism

Developed by Peninsula Corporate Innovation e Hypervsn for the historic Salt Valley of Añana, in Álava, 'El Saliner@' is a life-size 3D hologram, in Full HD resolution and equipped with AI, that offers a new tourist experience of this area.

With more than 7.000 years of salt history in Spain and candidate for World Heritage of the UNESCO, The Salado Valley of Añana from Alava annually receives more than 90.000 visitors.

He Salinas de Añana City Council and the Salado Valley Foundation They raised the challenge of modernize the tourist experience, effectively communicate the historical and cultural wealth of the enclave, position this area as a reference destination through advanced technologies and, at the same time, promote a sustainable and accessible environment that generates a greater positive impact in the region.

The response to this challenge has been The Saliner, and life size 3D hologram (of 75×180 cm, Full HD) provided with artificial intelligence, developed within the framework of the project Creation of digital content for the management of the Salado Valley and financed with European funds NextGenerationEU.

This holographic metahuman incorporates a Conversational AI platform powered by Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), that allows you to access a knowledge base about the Salado Valley and provide accurate and relevant answers.

This is the fifth implementation of this technology by Peninsula Corporate Innovation in specialized environments. Besides, the system of Multilingual natural language processing Enables real-time interaction in six languages (español, Basque, English, Catalan, french and german), with high fidelity voices and a precision greater than 90% in recognition.

The avatar has been designed with a high level of realism, including advanced textures, Accurate lip synchronization and a wide range of facial expressions. Male versions have been developed, feminine and non-binary.

Besides, has been incorporated autonomous content management system which allows the Valle Salado Foundation to update the knowledge base independently, guaranteeing long-term sustainability and control. The deployment is carried out on the SmartV holographic hardware from Hypervsn, Peninsula technology partner.

With its launch, Valle Salado is positioned at the forefront of tourism innovation in Spain. The visitor experience is enriched with a personalized interaction, educational and emotional; cultural heritage is disseminated in a more attractive and accessible way, and the destination differentiates itself as a reference in the use of advanced technologies for cultural management.
