Ideum exhibition Gustave Baumann

In collaboration with the designers and exhibition organizers of the New Mexico Museum of Art, the AV specialist The same thing has created a digital environment and animated for the sample Gustave Baumann: the artist's environment, that explores this master printmaker's connection to the land and people since his arrival in Santa Fe, offering a theatrical introduction to the artist's work.

Known for his woodcuts, Gustave Baumann left a huge artistic legacy, which also includes paint, sculpture, drawing, puppets and furniture, becoming an important cultural figure of New Mexico, to whom tribute is now paid in this thematic digital exhibition around his work.

Along the entrance hall, three custom digital screens by Ideum, each designed as a miniature proscenium, they reproduce sequential animated scenes that lead visitors to the main gallery, with Baumann's puppet creations.

3D experts from Ideum have meticulously recreated each puppet in digital format, drawing inspiration from the artist's original puppets and archival recordings of his performances. The animation pays tribute to subtle timing, the humor and expressiveness of the movements characteristic of Baumann's shows.

New Mexico Museum of ArtEach animated vignette develops in a synchronized coordination, con script and audio contributed by the museum, for visitors to tour the exhibition with a single, continuous narrative. ‍The physical design of the facility complements its content: Sculpted frames evoke the architecture of a classic puppet theater, with its draped curtains and warm wood tones, that integrate with the aesthetics of the exhibition.
